The scientific name of shrimp is Caridea.
Their taxonomy classifies them as part of the Caridea family and Pleocyemata class.
There are over 300 subspecies, and each one has its own scientific name as well.

¡Feliz día internacional del Tiburón Ballena!
El tiburón ballena es la especie de pez más grande del planeta ¡llegan a medir hasta 18 metros! A pesar de su gran tamaño se alimenta de organismos minúsculos conocidos como plancton.
En La Paz somos afortunados de recibirlo año con año y poder convivir con ellos.

Happy International Whale Shark Day!
The whale shark is the largest species of fish on the planet, they can measure up to 18 meters! Despite its large size, it feeds on tiny organisms known as plankton.
We are fortunate to receive them year after year in La Paz.

Did you know that BALANDRA BEACH is also called by many as a “natural lagoon” due its small waves and shallow depth. You can easily walk several meters into the water, as it barely reaches 1.20 meters in depth!
¡NUESTRO MODO NAVIDAD ESTÁ ACTIVADO! ¡Hoy disfrutamos de un día muy divertido en la playa se BALANDRA con una familia increíble! ¿Sabías que BALANDRA también es llamada por muchos como una “laguna natural” debido a sus pequeñas olas y poca profundidad? In our TRIPS you will learn very important facts about WHALE SHARKS and why we need to take care or them! For example, according to the IUCN, the Indo-Pacific population of the whale shark is thought to have reduced 63 percent over the past 75 years. That means they are an endangered specie due to the impacts of fisheries, by-catch losses, and vessel strikes, combined with its long lifespan and late maturation.
¡En nuestros recorridos aprenderás datos muy importantes sobre los tiburones ballena y por que debemos cuidarlos! Por ejemplo, según la UICN, se cree que la población del tiburón ballena del Indo-Pacífico se ha reducido en un 63 por ciento en los últimos 75 años. Eso significa que son una especie en peligro de extinción debido a los impactos de las pesquerías, las pérdidas de capturas y los choques de barcos, combinados con su larga vida útil y maduración tardía.
