His introduction to the East Cape area started in 1988 when he traveled down the peninsula in search of wind. An avid windsurfer from Hood River, Oregon he had heard about the windsurfer "paradise" of Los Barriles. Prior to living in Los Barriles Ron had a real estate investment firm in San Francisco for ten years. Before moving to San Francisco Ron was a Corporate Finance officer with Shearson Am

erican Express in New York. A native of Seattle, Washington, Ron started his business career with the accounting firm of Peat Marwick and Mitchell's Seattle office as a corporate auditor. After living in these different locations Ron has discovered "Paradise" in Los Barriles. Ron (Quadman) opened his ATV - Mini Jeep Rental's in Los Barriles, B.C.S. While living and working in Los Barriles, Ron, a lifelong animal lover, saw a need for a humane society in the area. Together with like-minded locals, Ron founded A.L.M.A. in February 2003 and served as its first president. A.L.M.A. is now a thriving multicultural organization providing services for local domestic animals.

Springtime is in the air and love blossoms. A perfect time for SNAP (Spay, Neuter and Prevent), to have a Spay /Neuter clinic. Our goal is provide Spay and neuter services to help reduce the population of unwanted puppies and kittens.

We need volunteers for the morning and afternoon shifts. Morning shift is from 7:30-12:00, afternoon shift is from 12:00-4:30.

Morning shift duties include clinic set up and assisting in the recovery area for the dogs and cats post surgery. Afternoon shift will be assisting in recovery area and tear down of clinic, cleaning crates, packing and loading trailer.

Special thanks to the sponsor of the SNAP Springtime clinic, Ron McCrea of Quadman ATV rentals. Ron is the founding member of ALMA HUMANITARIA, 2001. He has promoted spay neuter clinics in our area since 2001. In a recent conversation with Ron
he mentioned that many people who have rented quads from him have commented that they notice that Los Barriles does not have starving, diseased unwanted dogs on our streets and beaches, unlike many other destinations in Mexico!! Quite a compliment to the efforts of SNAP.
