Who is Maestra Nachita?
I got my masters in TESOL from NYU in New York in 2012. I stayed on at my job for a couple years before throwing in the towel and moving to Mexico in 2014.
I got into teaching Spanish when a man came to my door and asked if I could teach him. “I heard you’re a teacher” he told me. He was my first student. I decided to make a book to help him organize his notes and this eventually became three levels of workbooks. I still struggle with Spanish; it isn’t my first language, but I learn more every year. What I have to offer that I think cannot be matched by an online course or an app is personalized instruction with compassion and lessons that teach specifically Mexican Spanish and local colloquial vocabulary. So if you’re interested in learning how regular people talk and improving your listening comprehension, I can help!
