The next time you see the Loreto Bay skyline, there will be an extra large palm tree visible near the Loreto Bay Resort. No, it isn't the world's largest palm tree. It is a new cell phone tower. As of this writing, it is still being completed and is not yet online. As you look at the photo above, you'll see a temporary cell tower that has been in place for the last couple of years....

Loreto Bay is getting a new palm tree shaped cell tower and we share information and photos about this new addition.

Loreto was on the outer bands of Hurricane Hilary and received a large amount of rain and strong winds during most of Saturday August 19, 2023. By Sunday morning the storm was gone and the clean up began. The image at the top of this post was taken on a still overcast Monday morning (August 21). For the most part, Loreto had only minimal issues and should be back to normal by the end of the week....

A quick recap of the damage in Loreto Bay, Santa Rosalia and on the Baja highways caused by the passing of Hurricane Hilary.

Loreto is a fairly small town in a fairly remote area of Baja California Sur. But thanks to an International airport, there are numerous ways to get to Loreto from the US or Canada. In the last week, I've seen some of them in unusual places and I thought I'd share some photos with everyone. Look at the top of the post and you'll see a crab hiding in the bushes. OK, we live along the Sea of Cortez so it isn't unusual to see crabs....
