A short afternoon session with Riley joining us from one of the cruise ships. We got Permit shots and saw the baby Tarpon but couldn’t get either to eat. Back in the village we caught this nice Bonefish, some little Snappers and lost a big mystery fish around a wooden post.

Hit a feeding spell on a cenote but it didn’t last. Bunch of sun bathing Snook spooked from the boat…. Again. Beaches were almost fisgless as this front is blowing in but we did get to cast at the Grand Slam. New guest Lasse from Norway is a real fishy gentleman, sad the fish didn’t show him a show this time.

Why we get up early. Another fish before the lodge boats left the dock.

Great to fish the floating Crab again. Those bigger Permit definitely follow the rafts. Had to put extra hours in to bag all 3 species. Not much inshore today but we made it happening.

A combo tour today with our new guests from Spain (day 2/2). Really great work from Miren to keep confident and keep casting in the lagoon. After a fair few tiny Tarpon chances she hooked played and landed a hard fighting bigger fish in great style. On the beach there was schools of Bones, Permit, a laid up Snook and 2 big Jacks right by the car waiting to meet us! Snook was a Princess, Permit charged but didn’t open their mouths but we cashed in on 2 nice Bones and a great Jack Crevalle.

A triple grand slam yesterday for Jason and Brian. A fitting end to their 5 days here honestly. Really rare they got opportunities at photos with both holding Bones, Cichlids, Tarpon and Permit together. Guess these guys were meant to fish together.

Combo tours are the best. Today we jumped 5 nice Tsrpon before most lodge boars left the dock. Boat finished 6-13. We then got 2 hours of constant Permit shots with absolutely no love at all. Great to have the variety if one species won’t play ball.

Today Jason got a Grand Slam plus a Trigger to add to yesterday’s lagoon Slam. Who knows what tomorrow brings. Brian caught a nicer Trigger too tailing in the surf and a bunch of nice Bones all on fly. Check out Buggs fishing lures for things to throw on spin gear for a trip this way. The one shown worked for everything for Jason today.

New guests Brian and Jason on a fly and spin lagoon trip today. Jason actually achieved the “lagoon super slam” catching both Cichlid species, Tarpon and Snook. Unfortunately Brian’s Snook eat didn’t hook up.

These guys worked so hard today casting in every single pocket and point with great accuracy. We ended up jumping just 6 from 9 grabs boating just a couple of babies but they were first Tarpon so another box ticked. Thanks you guys for your awesome effort today. Of course we crushed it on the Cichlids!

Fun moment today when a fish jumped over the boat.

Fun day walk and wade trip with our repeat guests the Ness family. A few firsts today Bonefish x2 and a Triggerfish. We caught a bunch of Bones including a great father and son double photo. We also caught a decent Grey Snapper some small Jacks and a beautiful Yellow Jack.

Felt like a slow day but we cast at a Grand Slam. Full day combo trip with new guests from Seattle area.
