ision is will your excursion be a one tank or a two!? The dive shop is just a short shuttle ride from the pier (approximately $2.00 USD per person). If you have others in your group, bring them along and they can hang out on the beach while you dive. The professional trained PADI dive staff will get you all checked in and get your adventure going. The reef locations are fairly close so travel time is brief. You will have the chance to see some exciting marine life including giant sea turtles, eels, lion fish, manta rays, coral formations and more. Some of the more popular dive spots include Xcalack and Xahuaixol. The locations are decided daily by the dive master depending on the currents and water conditions. The Meso-American Barrier Reef runs over 900 kilometers from Cozumel to Honduras. The section of reef off Mahahual (Costa Maya) has many finger formations that have created canyons and swim throughs. The reef here is very healthy and in almost pristine condition - you will see cactus coral as well as many hard and soft species. The equipment used is top of the line and is continuously maintained by Sherwood certified technicians. BCDs and regulators are replaced on a regular basis. Quality of the equipment helps assure everyone has a safe and fun day. The one tank dive is approximately 2 hours and the two tank dive is approximately 3 hours.
