Just walk a few blocks of Centro Hístorico, and you´ll dive headfirst into a dizzying whirlwind of centuries-old history, where cultures collide and mingle in a mind-bending and mesmerizing way. Mexico City isn’t just a city; it’s a city built on top of a city, built on top of a lake.
This place is a paradox: it sinks, it tilts, it reinvents itself constantly but never loses its edge. Its streets and buildings have hosted a parade of diverse cultures, each leaving an indelible mark and adding to the city’s electric vibe.
Our tour delves into these layered histories, offering an exclusive peek into the past that’s only accessible through the stories etched into the very fabric of its landmarks. We’ll pull back the layers on Art Nouveau icons, a surreal mural inspired by the masters, the oldest elevator in all of Mexico fit for a dictator, and the many saints of Mexican Catholicism.
And we will eat: churros from one of CDMX’s most storied — and arguably the best — churreria, tacos from a taqueria that Anthony Bourdain made famous, and pastries representing an essential part of Mexican life.
