-----Discover Mezquitic and Jalisco-----
The region where Jalisco and Zacateca states meet is one of the most remote, wild and beautiful areas in western Mexico (Sierra Madre Occidental). Come to enjoy the vast expanse of our beautiful land. The region offers different adventure experiences, such as hikes in the mountains, off-road raids or horseback riding. The land is also the home of one of the most interesting indigenous groups of Mexico - Wixarika or the Huichol people, whose communities still practice the use of medicinal pe**te cactus. Some of the communities accept visitors and are happy to share their culture with outsiders.
Unfortunately, at the same time, the region of Jalisco is facing different issues. We have high unemployment rates, especially among indigenous communities, which rely for the most part on government subsidies. We created this page to promote our land in hope to attract more visitors. If you are ready to step out of your comfort zone and venture out to the remote Maxican wilderness, we would like to invite you to Mezquitic and further.
Below we prepared tips on how to get here and a summary of the experiences our region offers. We can also help you organise your stay and in order to do that please contact us via private message.
