The monarch population is split into two migratory populations: the larger eastern population, which winters mostly in Mexico, and the western population, which breeds west of the Rockies and winters in California.
With the eastern population being larger, more widespread, and often in areas more populated by humans, we get more reports from the East, so we're always looking for more reports from western monarch observers. What are you seeing near you this time of year?
