Today, we explored the breathtaking Marietas Islands, a true hidden gem in Mexico! From the moment we arrived, the crystal-clear turquoise waters and lush rocky landscapes left us in awe.

🌊 Morning Bliss: Started the day kayaking through calm waters, surrounded by stunning views of the islands. The wildlife was incredible—spotting vibrant birds and playful fish was such a treat.

Scuba diving for the first time is an experience that fills you with a sense of wonder and awe. As you descend into the water, the world above disappears, and you're enveloped in a quiet, weightless realm. The sensation of breathing underwater for the first time is surreal — each inhalation is calm and controlled, and you realize how effortlessly you can float in the cool, clear depths.

The vibrant coral reefs, teeming with colorful fish, seem like scenes from a dream. Taking these two texan gals our of their comfort zone 👌
Visibility was poor at the surface and once we got under 10mts we could actually see each other and enjoy the dice. Saw a bunch of octopi, mobula rays, a massive diamond ray and some long moray eels. Such a great couple of dives.

This species has a distinguishing characteristic, its rostrum, the basis for its common name, cownose. The pectoral fins separate at the front of the head into two lobes with a center crease which, combined with the indented notch in the ray’s cartilaginous skull, give the rays a cow-like appearance. The species is migratory, usually traveling in schools.

La parada de seguridad es una práctica esencial en el buceo recreativo, diseñada para garantizar la seguridad del buzo y reducir el riesgo de enfermedades relacionadas con la descompresión. Se realiza generalmente a una profundidad de 3 a 5 metros durante un tiempo de 3 a 5 minutos antes de ascender a la superficie. Su importancia radica en varios aspectos: 1. Eliminación de nitrógeno residual Durante el buceo, el cuerpo absorbe nitrógeno debido al aumento de la presión. Al ascender, la presión disminuye y el nitrógeno disuelto comienza a liberarse. La parada de seguridad permite que este gas se libere gradualmente, reduciendo el riesgo de formación de burbujas en los tejidos, lo cual es clave para evitar la enfermedad descompresiva. 2. Margen de seguridad adicional Aunque los buceos recreativos suelen mantenerse dentro de los límites sin descompresión, la parada de seguridad proporciona una capa extra de protección, especialmente si el buzo ha estado cerca de esos límites o si se cometieron errores en la planificación. 3. Control del ascenso La parada ayuda a practicar un ascenso controlado y lento, algo esencial para evitar problemas como el barotrauma pulmonar o un ascenso descontrolado que podría causar accidentes graves. 4. Tiempo para evaluación Permite al buzo evaluar su estado físico y psicológico antes de salir a la superficie, verificando si hay síntomas de problemas como cansancio extremo, náuseas, o mareo. 5. Buenas prácticas de buceo Incorporar esta práctica fomenta una mentalidad segura y responsable entre los buzos, fortaleciendo los hábitos necesarios para disfrutar del buceo con menor riesgo.
