Ocean sounds are soft noises with a low frequency and a rhythmic nature. They tell our brains that we are safe. Loud, sudden noises put us on alert, but natural water sounds activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which helps us relax and unwind.  . Researchers have found that listening to water sounds reduces our stress levels, lowers blood pressure, and encourages a sense of calmness. The brain releases “feel-good” neurochemicals like dopamine and oxytocin, which reduce stress and promote feelings of relaxation and pleasure.  . Always a nice surprise to encou ter Moray Eels outside they lair and watch them elegantly swim 🐉 . The dorsal fin extends from just behind the head along the back and joins seamlessly with the caudal and anal fins. Most species lack pectoral and pelvic fins, adding to their serpentine appearance. Los Arcos de Mismaloya 🏝 Located in southern Banderas Bay, a group of granite rock formations that protrude from the surface of the sea. It is also one of the deepest parts of the bay and is full of life. The arches and islets did not exist several thousand years ago, they were hills of the mountainous coastal part that we have today. Over time, the sea wore down these hills and mountains that included solid granite inside. Erosion left these granite promontories visible in the form of rocks or islands, as we see them today. Definitely an interesting spot to explore underwater . ⏩️ The giant oceanic manta ray, giant manta ray, or oceanic manta ray (Mobula birostris) is a species of ray in the family Mobulidae, and the largest type of ray in the world. ⏩️ It is circumglobal and is typically found in tropical and subtropical waters, but can also be found in temperate waters. ⏩️ The giant oceanic manta ray can grow up to 9 m (30 ft) in maximum length and to a disc size of 7 m (23 ft) across with a weight of about 3,000 kg (6,600 lb) but average size commonly observed is 4.5 m (15 ft). ⏩️ It is dorsoventrally flattened and has large, triangular pectoral fins on either side of the disc. At the front, it has a pair of cephalic fins which are forward extensions of the pectoral fins. These can be rolled up in a spiral for swimming or can be flared out to channel water into the large, forward-pointing, rectangular mouth when the animal is feeding. ⏩️ The teeth are in a band of 18 rows and are restricted to the central part of the lower jaw. ⏩️ The eyes and the spiracles are on the side of the head behind the cephalic fins, and the gill slits are on the ventral (under) surface. ⏩️ It has a small dorsal fin and the tail is long and whip-like. This video was taken on our 2nd dive of the day. Stèphane and his 2 Advanced Open Water students had seen this same Giant Pacific Manta on their 1st dive spot [La Pared]. 🔽 My Group and I weren't so lucky, BUT 10 minutes before the 2nd dive ended, I was contemplating the beauty of the Marietas' rock formations. 🔽🔽 Stèphane's group and mine joined forces and were gliding beside the walls of El Amarradero, near the tunnels, at a depth of 15mts. 🔽🔽🔽 I suddenly feel this urge to look back towards the divers and I see this MASSIVE Manta following us, trying to catch up! I immediately banged my bell to get all the divers' attention. 🔽🔽🔽🔽 The Giant Manta was definitely intrigued by us and all the bubbles this big group of divers [8 in total] was making. The Manta glided right above us, just a few meters away from, wiggled one of its horns and kept going. I calculate at least 5mts from wing-to-wing. 🔽🔽🔽🔽🔽 Stèphane, excited as F*CK, swam to it to get a better look.
