This bird !!! It’s just insane the colors of the male Painted Bunting🤯💙💚💛❤️

This is half hour from Oaxaca centro close to Santa Maria el Tule during a BIRD WATCHING Tour with John.
We were very lucky to find this beauty very busy eating some seeds and let us approach just two meters close and observe it for long minutes, taking pictures and videos.

We love those surprises, enjoy!

I cannot believe the beautiful evolution of this hike🤯🌈🦋
It became a healing/ceremonial/grounding hike where I enjoy bringing all kinds of offering, chanting, cocoa … the magic happens instantly 💫✨

Since I started in 2019 I met beautiful hearts and heard amazing stories from people coming from all over…

Infinitely thankful for Renata and the gift of sharing her birthday with all of us, closing the year with love!

we hiked 14 km up to 3200 m high on the beautiful sunny day with local guide CARLOS. Amazing day trip I highly recommend!!

The Natural Magic of Oaxaca's Coast:
One of the most breathtaking natural phenomena occurs here—the "arribada" of sea turtles. During this event, hundreds to thousands of turtles gather over 3-4 days, coming ashore both day and night to lay their eggs.

Last week at the sanctuary, we were fortunate to witness this extraordinary spectacle. Turtles gracefully emerged from the ocean, made their way up the beach, and dug their nests in the sand. They then laid thousands of eggs, carefully covered them, and returned to the sea—a remarkable dance of life and nature ⁠
The efforts to protect these sanctuaries are crucial for the continued survival of these turtles.

Another monthly bird banding sessions here at MONTE ALBAN, zapotec ruins of Oaxaca⁠

Unique experience to watch sunrise from the top of the ruins and observe birds from so close⁠
The datas collected since over a year have already given amazing datas, new species for the area that weren't seen before but captured in the nets. ⁠
⁠
Last monday the Worm-eating Warbler was banded for the first time at this station, very rare to find in the central valleys of Oaxaca. As well as the Slate-blue Seedeater also new in the area... More and more datas are collected thanks to this type of banding site, efforts by the beautiful team for so many years! BRAVO!! ⁠

Berylline Hummingbird is a common, resident hummingbird here in Mexico. ⁠
the irradiant green body reveals its magnificiant color in the sun light!! ⁠

Hummingbirds are not banded here at the station but counted when found in the nets and released. ⁠

The monthly bird banding sessions at the Etnobotanical Garden of Oaxaca have been running since more than 22 years by . ⁠
⁠
Last sunday again some amazing encounters with this magnificent Cooper's Hawk. Who would have thought to band a hawk right in the middle of the town! ⁠
Beautiful memories for all the participants to observe it from so close.⁠
⁠
⁠
Plus a LONGEVITY RECORD for the Great Kiskadee!! A recapture of a banded bird gives us a period of time from the date of first capture to recapture. in this case 7 years and 1 month. ⁠
⁠
This is possible only thanks to this type of banding site, efforts by the beautiful team for so many years! BRAVO!! ⁠
