Real Mayan Adventures is unique because we offer opportunities to explore off the map caves in the area. We use only top-quality spelunking equipment and are well-trained, certified caving experts. The Puuc Region is the only place in the Yucatan Peninsula where these types of cave formations are found. The caves are also unique for their ancient history; some of the caves--which the ancient Maya

referred to as the "underworld"-- served important religious and cultural purposes, the evidence of which can still be seen today. Apart from caving, we also offer expeditions in the tropical dry forest and visits to ancient ruins. For visitors interested in contemporary culture, including outings to local events, visits with local shamans and traditional healers. We speak English, Spanish and Yukatek Maya.
