☀️ Great news: this year there will no longer be a sargasso (seaweed)on the coasts of Quintana Roo ☀️

Cancun, July 14 (Infoqroo).- The Caribbean Sea Environmental Monitoring and Climate Change Network confirmed its forecast issued on June 20 in the sense that there will be no sargasum on the coasts of Quintana Roo for the remainder of 2024.

The news is great news for the tourism sector, especially for hoteliers, who will be able to offer their guests clean beaches in the coming holiday seasons, especially in the summer season, which has already begun.

According to a message from its social media page, the Environmental Monitoring Network pointed out that the few remaining remnants of biomass of that macroalgae in Mexican Caribbean waters landed in past days due to the action of hurricane "Beryl".

"That will guarantee a 2024 summer vacation period completely free of sargassum," confirmed Hydrobiologist Esteban Amaro, director of the Quintana Roo Sargassom Monitoring Network.

He also specified that what has generated this special condition has been significant changes in the direction and speed of the main marine currents in the Caribbean, which lead the macroalgae to other points.
