El Cuyo is a small fishing village on the tip of the Yucatan Peninsula. It is located in the National Park Ria Lagartos. This area is well known for the thousands of flamingos that call this area home among sea turtles and other sea birds.

El Cuyo has traditionally been a place by the sea where fishermen live and people from the interior of the peninsula come to spend a few days by the beach. The result is many cabanas in town. A perfect place to relax and enjoy paradise on earth.

The Magical Town of Valladolid in Yucatán is one of those places in which time goes slowly. This town still emanates the ancient magic of the Mayan inhabitants.

Afternoons are made for wandering around its barrios full of colors, with its enormous houses that seem to talk about important moments in the history of the country, like the War of the Castes, The Colony and The Mexican Revolution.

Cenote Hubiku in Mayan means “the Great Lord”. The underground, semi open cenote has an opening in its roof where both natural lights and tree roots cascade towards its waters.

The waters of Ik Kil were considered sacred by the Mayans who performed here human sacrifices to their rain god.

Bones and jewelry were found in the deep waters of this cenote by archaeologists and speleologists.

It is well-liked because it looks like some deep tropical hidden paradise. Some vines and roots hang down into the water and verdant plants around the lip of the entrance to this cenote.
