A bonito as bait got us three beautiful amberjacks!!

The bigger one was around 25lb

We had the pleasure to take Marie and her sons out to cast some fish!!

The water was calm, and the fishing had been a bit slow lately. Marie was the first to get a hit: a yellow tail grouper! Everyone placed their bets on who would land the bigger catch. After that we landed a barracuda and two amberjacks on one line!

Looking at the last picture who do you think won the bet?

Some amberjacks from a trip back in January!!

It was an excellent day on the water and I could not leave these pictures just on my phone, so here they are:

We used the bonito as bait for the amberjacks 🎣 and we also prepared a delicious ceviche

Kingfish and wahoo!! Excellent combo 🙌🏾

Did some speed trolling to land these two.

The wahoo are powerful and aggressive swimmers with an amazing speed. The kingfish is also a powerful and aggressive fighter.

Our wahoo was around 20lb and our kingfish around 30lb

Deep sea fishing for snapper, bottom fishing with three lines in the water and landed triggerfish, a beautiful king triggerfish and a small grouper. We finished the day trolling for bonitos 🙌🏾 An excellent day with plenty of action!

We started the day with bonitos, after a while Mariano started yelling: a wahoo! As usually we had a rod up on the rod holder on the roof - our fifth line at 70-80m . The reel started to spin, we took the rod down, it was a strong fight. We were giving instructions and maintaining the speed (around 3 knots), to keep the line tense and prevent the wahoo from escaping. We managed to land a 35lb wahoo!! Around 15 min later we had a strong hit: a big barracuda, sadly it got away. Then we had another bite, a smaller barracuda but it still gave a great fight!

It was a great day on the water! Thank you for choosing us for your fishing trip!

Our little angler had a blast reeling in countless bonitos, his dad reeled in a 8kg barracuda and everyone enjoyed a delicious ceviche after some snorkeling! Once back at the beach the barracuda was prepared into a great meal 🙌🏾

We have been doing trolling, bottom and deep sea fishing lately:

For trolling we use escribano or balihoo with lures. We use this technique for bonitos and barracudas. For the bonitos we usually just use a colorful lure with a hook.

For bottom fishing we use escribano, bonito or sardine as bait and use it to target triggerfish, grouper and snapper.

Amberjack, snapper and zapatero are targeted with deep sea fishing using bonito or escribano as bait.

The fishing has been a bit slow lately, but we still managed to secure a great meal!

We started doing some trolling and landed some bonitos. Then we switched it up to bottom fishing and landed some triggerfish (escochin) and some white snappers (pargo blanco or as we call them zapateros)

We did some deep sea fishing, around 370 ft for the amberjacks and some trolling for the barracuda! It was an excellent day with strong bites

The amberjacks were around 22lb and the barracuda around 15lb 💪🏾

Morning fishing trip on the 28th of January:

25lb amberjack and a 15lb wahoo 🤩

We did some bottom fishing dropping our bait (sardine) around 80-90m deep. Our first bite was the amberjack. We dropped another bait but at around 20-30m we got a hit, the wahoo didn´t let the bait get to the bottom. Usually we do trolling to land wahoos, so it was a great surprise!

Last year due to rough weather we had to cancel our trip with Rick. This year we got to take him out and landed some barracuda and red snapper 💪🏾

It was an excellent afternoon my friend! Hope to see you again next year!

Barracuda and amberjack, and a little surprise from the tax man!

From around November to February is shark season (bullsharks and tigersharks) , that means there is a chance our catch get´s a little lighter while reeling it in 🦈

It often happens with the amberjacks. A lot of times the sharks are after the school of coronados, and as the coronado puts up a good fight and is very shiny the shark detects and attacks it.

This trip was in December, this month we have not been taxed yet
