City Confirms Phase II
Restaurants Open Tomorrow!
After some confusion about Rocky Point entering Phase II, and, in particular, restaurants being allowed to open, tonight we have received confirmation that Peñasco is now in Phase II!
In a nutshell what this means for you...
- Restaurants allowed to open at 40% of their normal capacity. You can now go out to eat!
- Churches and places of worship can also open at 40% of their normal occupancy, with the exception of: NO children under the age of 12; NO senior adults; and NO one with chronic illnesses. Please also keep in mind that face masks need to be worn and no hand shaking.
- Ovalo (track), for those who want to excersise, will be by appointment ONLY - and limited capacity of 25 ppl. Please call 638-113-3300 to book your appointment.
- Funeral Services will be limited to a maximum of 10 people.
Mandatory face mask usage is still in place as is social distancing. Let's all follow the rules so we can fully open up on June 16th.

Phase 2 of the Peñasco Plan is activated
+ Restaurants and other businesses will operate at 40 % of their capacity
Puerto Peñasco, Sonora; June 02, 2020.- Mayor Kiko Munro confirmed the beginning of Phase 2 of the Peñasco plan is activated!, in which new steps are taken to continue the economic reactivation in a gradual, healthy and safe way.
The President of Puerto Peñasco said that from 01 to 15 June will be able to open, operating at 40 % of their capacity, the following establishments: cafés, restaurants, taqueras, pizza paras, points of sale of juices and smoothies, and furniture shops.
Kiko Munro claimed that, as regards the continuity of operation of public spaces respecting a distance of 2 meters, it opens to the activity "El Ovalo", in which a maximum of 25 people per hour will be allowed, with physical activation from 5:00 to 8:00 hours and from 17:00 to 20:00 p.m., by appointment arranged at the Municipal Institute of Sport.
