These lovely people, and a whole bunch of others spent the morning cleaning around the road and pathway from the highway to the beach. Look at the number of trash bags they collected, and this is only a portion of what they picked up!
The sad thing is that someone will need to do it again in a few weeks. I can’t imagine why people toss trash in such a beautiful place.

New Restaurant Alert: This is Your Alibi opening soon on the main floor of Areia hotel, directly below .
“Your Alibi” is all about Chicago including deep dish pizza.
They're not quite open yet, they are trying a few things, but the real opening will be Wednesday or Thursday.

Some of PM's convenience stores are getting a bit more convenient! This is the OXXO by the square in Puerto Morelos, and they are going back to all night service. OXXO's dialed back their hours during Covid. Not sure if all locations are doing this, I noticed at least one (on Zetina Gasca) is also returning to 24-hour service.

This photo of the square is from this morning. Speeches (so many speeches) were about to begin and the surprisingly good Quintana Roo Police Band delighted the early crowd with a pretty on-the-nose performance of "Smooth Operator".
