As you know, a cornerstone of what we do here at the Stirling Dickson Expat Community Resource Center is to keep SMA safe. To that end, we have partnered with GuardOn, your 24/7 personal safety and medical alert system. This solution can keep you safe all over Mexico and the United States.

To download the app, please visit https://www.guardon.com/download. Once you download and sign up, please let me know and I will add you to our trusted safety group. I will also upgrade you for two months to the Basic plan which includes adding 10 contacts and instant 911 coverage in SMA, Mexico, and the US.

Also, please note that if you do decide to become a paying member, a large portion of the proceeds will go to support the Stirling Dickinson Expat Community Resource Center.

What a nice group of people who showed up for the GuardOn presentation today at the Stirling Dickinson offices.
If you don’t know about it yet, (let’s see if I get this right), GuardOn is an emergency security and medical alert system designed for expats and travelers. Assisting in any language, anywhere, if something were to happen to you (me), they not only alert local authorities but also your designated contacts.
I heard the word free a few times.
Anyway, it was a nice time.

15th of September - Viva México!!

By now you have seen the colorful banners and flags throughout our beautiful town and maybe you are wondering about the celebrations coming up this weekend.

The 15th of September marks the beginning of a 2-day celebration of Mexico’s independence. The night will be filled with displays of love of country with music, dance, fireworks and parties and partying that can last all night.

In San Miguel de Allende, crowds of people will begin arriving at the Jardín by late afternoon. If you are going, fair warning, by the time the night festivities begin the Jardín will be packed, standing room only, sardine style, and trying to leave early will definitely be a challenge.

At 11 pm a runner will enter the Jardín carrying a torch and then the Mayor will recite Father Hidalgo's proclamation of independence (from the year 1810) from the balcony of the Allende House. The Mayor will then call out the names of past Mexican heroes and he will end the ceremony with shouts of “Viva México!” All the while the crowd will be responding with “Viva!" Then the celebrations continue with a huge fireworks display.

This same scene will be played out in the same way at this very moment in every town and city in Mexico. This is THE September event in San Miguel and everywhere in Mexico.

If you decide you’d like a smaller party atmosphere and haven’t yet made plans, we would love for you to join us on the Stirling Dickinson Expat Center patio, located at Stirling Dickinson #12, on September 15 starting at 5:00pm, for a traditional Mexican dinner, drinks and music. The new administration of the Expat Community Resource Center would like to address a pressing issue that has affected many individuals. If you have been a victim of the previous administration's fraudulent auto-renewal of memberships on your credit cards, we are here to help you.
We are committed to rectifying this situation and ensuring that justice is served. To that end, we will be reporting this incident to the Mexican government. We sincerely invite you to visit our office where our team is ready to provide assistance.

Join us for an important meeting on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at 9 am in our office located at Stirling Dickinson 12. We are fortunate to have lawyer Mayeli Murillo Tapia joining us to deliver a complimentary conference on the topic of auto-renewal fraud perpetrated by the previous administration.
Our goal is to collectively file a community complaint, which will be presented to the Mexican government of San Miguel de Allende. Your participation is crucial in building a strong case against Kimberly Kubalek and ensuring that the authorities take appropriate action to halt her fraudulent activities.
