Last call!!! Our end of the year on our anual events is here, this will be a special series of activities in honor to the Virgin of Guadalupe!!! Plus, this time, you will be contributing to a great cause in San Miguel, EEESMA - School for Deaf in San Miguel.

The meeting is tomorrow Wednesday, December 11th at Sala Quetzal. Doors open at 10:50 AM and lecture begins at 11:00 AM. If you can't go directly online, you can also buy the tickets at the moment at Sala Quetzal with our staff.

A witness of the strong Guadalupanismo in San Miguel.

Undoubtedly, one of the keys to understand the strong devotion to Virgen of Guadalupe in San Miguel de Allende is the Sanctuary of Mexiquito. A shrine built north of the city, on the top of the hill of the same name, over the ruins of an abandoned hacienda from XVIII century, owned then by the prestigious and wealthy Sauto Family.

The Sanctuary and orphanage of Mexiquito were established in 1957 by the famous opera singer Jose Mojica when he became a Franciscan monk and decided to move to San Miguel and make real the request of his mother who years before asked José to build a church for the lady of el Tepeyac.

Since then Mexiquito became part of the religious life of sanmiguelenses. Finally had been built a church exclusive for “la virgencita” so mañanitas, fireworks, atole & tamales, danzas, processions happen every December the 12th.
