Jeff and I are so blessed! ✨ There’s nothing better than sharing our little slice of paradise with our kids, grandkids, and their friends. Watching them create lifelong memories in Cozumel fills our hearts with joy.

Today, we received the sweetest message from them as they arrived, and it’s a beautiful reminder of why we love having a place to gather, unwind, and enjoy the island life together. ❤️

🩷It smells heavenly in my house right now! Weekend get together with friends means some home-made fresh milled honey wheat bread and fresh milled chocolate chip cookies are in order. 🍞🍪

Hooray!!! 4 days in and the Villa at Costa del Sol now has power once again. So thankful to the crews working on power lines around the island to get electric and water going again. 🙏

Hurricane Beryl came along and punched Cozumel but this island doesn’t stay down. Thankfully, Beryls winds were only 110 mph / Cat 2 as it came over us in the early morning hours.

Most of the island is up and running while some areas are still without electricity or water.
Our El Cantil Condo had electricity and water restored in under 24 hours but our Villa (Costa del Sol) remains without power or water. Crews are working hard to repair the power lines and we hope to have electricity restored soon.

All in all we were blessed on this island since the worst winds went through the southern end of the island where there is less habitation and infrastructure. The winds left much of the jungle trees at the south end stripped bare and the turtle nests washed out.

Yesterday as I walked the beach on the wild side, I smiled as I realized life goes on when I came upon new turtle tracks leading to new nests to lay their eggs.

Thanks to all for the concern and well wishes. It’s yet another beautiful day in paradise!

The island of Cozumel is open!
It is hard to believe that 24 hours ago we woke up to the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl. Cozumel airport is open, the cruise ships have returned, the dive and snorkel boats are out on the water.
We are so proud to be residents of this incredible island that is filled with resilient and hard working people.

Muchos Gracias 🙏 for all your thoughts and prayers last night! No power but All is well. The Villa and the Condo did their thing and stood strong through the storm.

After storm breakfast of cold overnight oats, boiled eggs mango and honey bread.

I will be sharing updates as we get out and about on the island today.
