A new place for us, recommended by a dear friend. It’s right on the water, so we saw the sunset and enjoyed great goat cheese-stuffed ravioli. Definitely coming back.

I fell in love with this seahorse when I saw it at the Barefoot Lounge last spring. It finally came to our place today and looks like it was meant to be here. It’s created by a talented local artist Marco Torres.

We found out that these two characters are Pancho and Juan. Pancho is a big guy. He was swimming away from us when some tour guide called him “Pancho, come back!”, and the cocodrillo turned around quickly and came back to shore. Obviously, he doesn’t come back for the pets or photo ops. The guide must feed him regularly, right? The whole thing was at Chen Rio.

Favorite island breakfast for me. Coffee, cottage cheese, papaya. Watching the sea is the best part. I developed this habit to buy a ripe papaya “para hoy” at a small fruit store on the way from the airport, clean, cut it up, and eat it for breakfast every day we stay on Cozumel. We tried papaya in Chicago, and it’s just not the same without our view, the sounds, and the whole experience of the coastal living The Landmark Resort of Cozumel Unit 611. ❤️

My wonderful husband made piña coladas so we could enjoy an out-of-this world Cozumel sunset from our patio. I have more pictures of sunsets than of my kids by now.

The countdown to the next trip began the moment we landed in the USA. The first snow in Chicago is a powerful reminder how wonderful it was just a few weeks back and how much we want to return to Cozumel.

This baby lives by Chen Rio and El Pescador. He (she?) is very small for a crock. Cute even. Looks lonely.
I like how the cocodrillos make the water vibrate around their snout. This one knows how to do it too.

I know he is not a pretty bird with a face only a mother could love, but he has his rightful place in the island’s ecosystem. I called him Kevin. Kevin spent 10 minutes on our balcony showing off his feathers.
