ut everyone. Both fun and safe, even children as young as 6 can do it. SNUBA is just like real SCUBA diving but the heavy air tanks float on the surface instead of being strapped to your back. No prior diving experience or training is needed; you just need to have basic swimming skills and be comfortable in the water. Afterward, you can relax on a sandy beach and use the beach club's facilities. Start this great adventure by hopping onboard a ferry in Playa del Carmen. You can then kick back and relax for 40 minutes while you enjoy the spectacular scenery. The ferry has facilities and serves snacks and drinks, although consumables are not included in the price. Pick a spot up top and feel the ocean breezes, or down below where you'll find both large viewing windows and air conditioning. Once you arrive on the island, your trained and certified PADI dive master will be waiting for you at the SNUBA site, which is just a short walk away, or you can hail a waiting taxi. The friendly staff will show you where you can secure your belongings. Then they will go over all of the safety instructions and go over the equipment you will be using. Each dive master will take 3 to 4 guests with them to provide a safe, small experience. You will get to practice with the equipment in the shallow water just off the beach area. Once your small group is ready, the dive instructor will lead you into the water and the fun begins! You will get to see and explore the underwater beauty of the coral reef marine life of Cozumel. The dive master will be by your side and point out some of the interesting sights and assist you along the way. Your maximum depth will be only 20ft and you may surface at any time if needed. The regular SNUBA activity is for those ages 8 years and older. But children ages 6 and 7 years may also participate in SNUBA Doo where they will have their own instructor and stay at the surface and participate with the rest of the group. When your SNUBA dive is completed after 25-30 minutes approximately, the guide will lead you back to the beach area. You are welcome to stay at the small beach club for as long as you wish and use all of the facilities including lounge chairs, beach tables and chairs, restrooms and showers, unlimited use of their snorkel gear, 3 standup paddleboards (SUP) as well as the full-service restaurant where you may purchase food and drinks. If there is anyone traveling with you that would like to just come along and watch, they are welcome to watch from the shore at no charge.
