Mapping the North Magnetic Pole's Shift Over 400 Years:

The North Magnetic Pole, the point where Earth's geomagnetic field is vertical, has been steadily shifting for centuries. A historical mapping of its movement from 1640 to 2020 reveals a gradual northwest trajectory in more recent centuries, primarily toward Siberia.

This shift has significantly accelerated in the past century, with the pole rapidly approaching Russia.

The movement is influenced by changes in the dynamics of Earth's molten iron core, which generates the planet's magnetic field. Unlike fixed geographical poles, the North Magnetic Pole's position fluctuates daily within an oval-shaped locus due to geomagnetic variations.

To create maps like these, scientists use historical data from magnetic measurements taken at various locations over centuries, including records from old compass readings, volcanic rock samples, and recent satellite observations.

Design, Patterns and symbols.

This pattern represent the vissions of the Nawales, Nagubæz, the people born with their consciousness awakened. Certain births occur with the jaguar influence in the Sun, Moon and Venus calendar, and thus these babies are born with a deeper and more natural connection to their Jaguar Nawal, these kids will feel a strong pull to and the , they will find it easy to navigate those worlds. Their intuition and their logic is naturally honned so they will excel in both realms of the awake world and the spiritual world, natural hunters, mathematicias, musicians, artists, poets and warriors. They are destined to become and protect their in times of danger, examples of famous Nawales are: in Texcoco who was a great governor that built acueduts, recited poetry and excelled in battles and political negotiations, more recently Crecensio in our village protected our lands during the turmoil of the and more famously Emiliano who fought for land rights and was made inmortal in the saying "Zapata vive, la lucha sigue" (Zapata is alive, the fight continues).

The nawal pattern is like a pattern that is obtained by joining both hands by the thumbs with the fists curled into a , it looks like two spirals united, this represent the union of the left and the righ side of our awarenes (Nawal and Tonal), the conscious and the unconscious, the masculine and the femenine, the day and night, the awake world and the . They key is to live a life of where these two types of perception is mantained in equilibrium.

Pillow case 40x50cm; 16in by 1.5ft

Weaver: Azucena Contreras

Materials and methods: criollo sheep wool and some fine merino blend with angora goat wool. Hand dyed with natural dyes: Bèé (cochineal) for reds and pinks; Xiuhquilitl (indigo) for hues of blue and green color. Pomegranate and Cempasuchitl blend for yellow background. This is among the last batch of yarns that I got to dye with my mom on this earth. Handwoven on a Zapotec style loom of the 16th century adapted from European styles. Woven using a 7 threads per inch reed and wool rayon blend for warp.

Design, Patterns and symbols.

This pillow case is perfect for meditating and praying. The design starts with a smile patttern that reminds us that smiling and laughing is the source of inner medicine that we carry and we can share with each other.

The following pattern is the tail of the scorpion constellation which is the same as the European one. The "venom" of the scorpion was used medicinally to make salves and ointments and even to this day it is used to infuse Mezcal. It is believed that Scorpions are messengers from the other world and often appear to us when someone from the underworld is trying to communicate with us.

There is an alignment that happens every eight years where the scorpio constellation rises first, followed by Venus (spiritual awakening) and then the sunrise. This is depicted in the mural of Cacaxtla and the two nested Diamonds (stars) in the center of the pillow.

The Diamond design is also used to represent the eye of the feathered serpent, the diamond that reminds us to live a life of balance and pursue beauty in everything that we do. The two oposite triangles in the center of this diamond represents the butterfly if wisdom and  love that comes when we see the world through a balanced way using the four types of awareness: intuitive, rational, earthly and spiritual. This diamond is surrounded by the agave patterns, the pointy leaves and the quiote are represented there to  honour agave as the Queen of plants that feed us before we planted corn, that dressed us before learning how to cultivate
