Our Story
TOSEA is the leading eco adventure company in Baja California Sur. Since 2002 we've been sharing our passion for the phenomenal natural beauty, unique culture, and extraordinary wildlife of Baja. Our award-winning trips have been featured in National Geographic, the London Times, Outside Magazine, Coastal Living, Condé Nast Traveler, Forbes, Pl***oy, Sunset Magazine, Lonely Planet, Luxury Latin America, El Universal, The Globe and Mail, The Dallas Morning News and Everett Potter’s Travel Report. The Baja peninsula is comprised of an amazing collection of diverse eco systems, and we create adventures that allow visitors to explore – and help conserve – the oceans, deserts, mountains, islands, estuaries, dunes, coastlines and mangroves that support one of the most biodiverse places on the planet.
Our guides and instructors are all residents of Baja who have a deep knowledge and love for the area, and take great pride in sharing their knowledge and expertise. All TOSEA guides are certified Wilderness First Responders, have NOM-9 certification for naturalist guides from the local environmental protection agency, are Leave No Trace certified by NOLS, and are highly trained in open water kayak rescue and aquatic safety. Our whole team is dedicated to superior customer service, safety, and – let’s just say it – having as much fun as possible! When you travel with Todos Santos Eco Adventures, you don´t just visit Baja, you live Baja.
At TOSEA we are committed to the health and well-being of the environment. Among other actions we have eliminated single-use plastics in our business and procurement practices, and we currently offset 75% of our carbon emissions, with plans to be at 100% by 2022. We are signatories to the Clean Up Pact, the world’s first traveler collective to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and store it permanently, as well as the Future of Tourism, which embodies our vision of tourism that can benefit destination communities, incentivize protection of nature and history, and enrich the traveling public. We are members of the Adventure Travel Conservation Fund and our nominated project, Desplastificate Todos Santos y Pescadero, won a grant in 2018 to help eliminate single-use plastics and Styrofoam in our community. But for us the local environment covers not only the local ecosystems, but the people and businesses of Baja California Sur as well. We work closely with and support local individuals and businesses including the local fishing cooperatives along the Pacific coastline, the ranchers and burreros of the Sierra La Laguna mountains, local and independent adventure professionals, and locally owned and operated art galleries, shops, restaurants, hotels and nonprofit organizations working for the betterment of the local community. We are proud sponsors of the Todos Santos Music Festival, the GastroVino Festival, the Todos Santos Film Festival, as well as local boxing, cycling, soccer and baseball clubs.
We have published three books, Baja Blooms: The Gardens of Los Colibris Casitas, Birding in Baja California Sur and Cooking Adventures in Baja California Sur. We are members of the Adventure Travel Trade Association, the Adventure Travel Conservation Fund, REMOTE LA, the Family Travel Association, the Educational Travel Community, and Amigos de la Costa de Todos Santos. We are the creators of the Todos Santos Christmas Bird Count Circle, part of the Audubon Society's annual Christmas Bird Count census that has been in place in the Western Hemisphere for over a century.
