The Ofrenda:
In Mexico, family and friends are remembered on Dia del Los Mu***os by building elaborate "Ofrendas". Included are pictures of loved ones who have passed. We built our own little Ofrenda at Bird Song, remembering the ones we love so much and have moved into the afterlife.

It is truly amazing what just a few bucks will buy you. My favorite place is La Chiapaneca for tacos and gringas. The street food is equally amazing

I spotted meat being cooked on a vertical spit, similar to Greek Gyro meat (layered) not American Gyro meat (solid mass) and so we walked another 1.5 miles to eat it. Completely worth it!!! It’s known as Al Pastor and it’s pork. It was cut from the spit and served in our tacos and tostadas. We ate two each, fresh guacamole and chips and drank Iced Hibiscus Tea (Aqua Jamaica) for $7 total!!

Yet another event to add to your Tulum cultural experience! The Danza de los Voladores, or Dance of the Flyers, is a traditional Mexican ritual that involves performers spinning around a pole while attached by ropes. The performers, known as "voladores", climb a tall pole and descend while mimicking the flight of birds.

We took a trip to Valladolid. We were checking out the market in the main square where suddenly a dance troupe appeared showing their skills at Jarana, a traditional dance in the Yucatan.
