The Mexican anteater (Tamandua mexicana) is a medium-sized animal with short fur. Its color is pale yellow or golden with a black “vest” pattern. It has a small head, a long nose, and no teeth. The spider monkey, Ateles, lives in the tropical forests of Central and South America. It weighs between 6 and 10 kg and can live up to 27 years in the wild. It feeds mainly on fruits, leaves, and insects, and lives in large groups that separate during the day to search for food. It uses its prehensile tail to move agilely between the trees and alerts its group with loud sounds when danger is detected. It is a social animal and an expert climber.

The Morelet’s crocodile, or swamp crocodile, is a species found in Mexico, Belize, and Guatemala, preferring freshwater bodies like rivers and lakes. It can measure between 2.5 and 4 meters and is an opportunistic predator. Although hunting reduced its population in the past, it is now classified as “Least Concern” due to conservation efforts. It is generally shy but can become aggressive if threatened.
