Zihua Adventures spent the day in Pátzcuaro and Copper town . We had an amazing trip touring both towns from seeing entertainment at the town square, touring local markets, ex convent 11 Patios to seeing what the local culture has to offer. Be sure to check out the locals making copper items in Santa Clara de cobre (Copper town)

Monarch Butterflies Experience
Zihua-Ixtapa Adventures is once again offering group tours to the magical MONARCH BUTTERFLY SANCTUARY this February 2-4.
On this trip, we will visit the towns of Pátzcuaro, Santa Clara del Cobre (Copper Town), Morelia city and El Rosario Butterfly Sanctuary. We will visit Copper galleries and watch as the artisans turn Copper into art. In Morelia, we will explore the candy market and Catherdral in the historic downtown. We will spend a day at the beautiful Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary.

On the way back from the Monarch Butterflies to Zihuatanejo.
Day 3.
We visited Copper town and saw a family of artisans mold the copper into jewelry, pots, cups, vases… etc.
Then we headed to Patzcuaro and had a beautiful lunch with an amazing view of Lake Patzcuaro and Janitzio Island.

Thank Lord for an amazing, safe, wonderful trip with such friendly people. It will not be forgotten.

On the way to the Monarch Butterflies Experience!
Day 2.
Maravatio town (means Precious Thing )
is very famous for strawberry fields.
We tasted Strawberries with cream and bought several baskets of strawberries!
Then we arrived at the Monarch Butterflies Sanctuary and up there you can decide to see the Butterflies by walking or riding a horse.
It’s an amazing show to see the Monarch Butterflies flying.
The kaleidoscope of butterflies is not to be missed! It is a chance of a lifetime to see millions of Mariposas Monarcha in the mountains El Rosario Sanctuary in the state of Michoacan.

History of Chocolate:

Spanish conquistador Hernán Cortés may have been the first European to encounter chocolate when he observed it in the court of Moctezuma II in 1520.

Visit the Chocolate store where you can tasty Chocolate with almond with walnut and Chocolate with coffee!
This store has from 1898!
Joaquina is the owner and she told us his father in law grampa started the business.
Treats are available for purchase in this store.
