MHTC continues to strengthen its healthcare tourism partnerships in Guangzhou, meeting with AirAsia China and key Chinese stakeholders. The discussions with AirAsia China focused on joint marketing efforts aimed at promoting Malaysia's comprehensive healthcare services to Chinese healthcare travellers.

In addition, MHTC met with the Consulate General of Malaysia and Tourism Malaysia in Guangzhou, gaining valuable insights into the Chinese market. MHTC also held discussions with Mr. Mohamad Haris, Trade Consul at the MATRADE Office in Guangzhou, and representatives from MAYCHAM Guangdong to strategise promotional initiatives and activation plans for healthcare tourism in the region.

These ongoing engagements reflect Malaysia Healthcare’s commitment to fostering stronger relationships and elevating Malaysia's position as a top-of-mind destination for healthcare tourism.

The growing demand for high-quality healthcare in the Asian region has made healthcare travel a significant trend. Malaysia, renowned for its world-class medical facilities, stands out as a preferred destination for medical tourists from China and other countries in the region.

During a visit to Xiamen, China, MHTC engaged with key industry players, including representatives from Xiamen Hongai Hospital, C&D International Travel Service, Tai-Orient, and Management Centre. These interactions provided valuable insights into the Chinese healthcare ecosystem and consumer preferences.

The MHTC team met with hospitals in Kuching (Borneo Medical Centre, KPJ Kuching Specialist Hospital, Normah Medical Specialist Centre, and Timberland Medical Centre) and Miri (Borneo Medical Centre, Miri and KPJ Miri Specialist Hospital).

Kicking off the highly anticipated MH Expo Jakarta 2024, MHTC embarked on a series of official visits to key partners in Jakarta - Bank Muamalat Indonesia, the nation's first Sharia banking institution, and JavaMifi, Indonesia's leading provider of global e-SIM cards.

This strategic partnership offers exclusive medical packages to Bank Muamalat's esteemed priority customers. It also ensures seamless connectivity for Indonesian healthcare travellers visiting Malaysia, fostering a smooth and hassle-free experience.

International Scoliosis Awareness Month was made especially meaningful through ALTY Orthopaedic Hospital's partnership with MHTC to promote Malaysia as a premier orthopaedic destination for medical travellers!

With ALTY's gifting of two wheelchairs to KLIA 1 and KLIA 2, MHTC and ALTY exemplify their commitment to enhancing patient mobility upon arrival in Malaysia. Furthermore, the hospital offered complimentary posture screenings at KLIA 1, extending benefits to both the public and flight passengers.
