Constructed in 1926 by the renowned Straits Chinese architect, Chew Eng Eam, the ๐ ๐ฎ๐ท๐ฒ๐๐๐ถ๐ฐ ๐ง๐ต๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ initially served as a live-theatre venue at the behest of ๐ฏ๐๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐๐บ๐ฎ๐ป and ๐ฝ๐ต๐ถ๐น๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ต๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฝ๐ถ๐๐ ๐๐ต๐ผ๐ผ ๐ฆ๐ถ๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐๐ฒ. The building proudly bore the Chinese inscription "๐ฆ๐ถ๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐๐ฒ ๐ง๐ต๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ".๐๏ธ
By the 1970s, this establishment became ๐ฃ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฎ๐ป๐ด's ๐ฝ๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐บ๐ฎ equipped with sound technology, elevating the standards of Penang's theatre district, which included neighboring cinemas like Rex, Odeon, and Capitol, to global levels. The Majestic Theater primarily featured ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐ฒ ๐ณ๐ถ๐น๐บ๐ from ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฐ๐น๐ฎ๐ถ๐บ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐๐๐๐ฑ๐ถ๐ผ๐ such as ๐ฆ๐ต๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ during its prime. ๐ฌ๐ฝ๏ธ
