View and scenery moment while boatriding. A 40ft long boat, an experienced boatman plus a good weather gave us a beautiful day!
Buaya Sangkut TNJERP teaser! View from the side due to the fast flowing water and quite heavy rain in the jungle the night before, we cant reach the front view.
This is just part of the 3level waterfall which maybe up to 10-15 floors or more of the height of apartment.
Must repeat during the dry season and experience again the greatness of Allah's creation.
This journey reminds me one of the wonderful waterfall in Malaysia, Langanan Waterfall in Sabah which took about 3km of hiking to reach that area. But this time about 5.5km to Buaya Sangkut from campsite.
Alhamdulillah touched down for the first time. Until we meet again. 2hb April 2017. been here with @umolsyamsyul

In our life, not everything will goes right, sometimes we need to go left. It is just our ups and downs.

My Red and Tiger worms. From 1kilo at first, now about 2.5-3kilos. Doing good, its time to change the bedding and food
Vermicomposting. Harvestmoon: Back to Nature!
Here is my first harvest of vermicasting from African Night Crawler (Eurdrilus eugeniae). The bedding used was shredded newspaper plus a lil abit of lanscape waste from UTHM.
The main diet for the last 45days was food scrap from my own kitchen and agricultural/ vegetables waste from farm and Freshhub.
The middle crock contain Red worm ( Eisenia fetida) and tiger worm( Lumbricus rubellus) with a bedding of shredded newspaper and cow dung. With the main diet of cow dung itself and vegetables scrap. Need liltte attention, just a lil a bit slow processing worm outdoor compared to African Night Crawler. Tried indoor using bin better as they need less maintenance.
After half an hour sieving, I have collected about 2-3kilos of wet vermicast and still got a lot in the crock about 10kilos. Just that I want to try the result of vermicast on my natural way of fertigation system.
At the end of sieving, we could collect a lot baby worms, cocoons, and worm poo which could be useful for gardening and farming. The baby worms in the vermicast may not survive when its dried, but the cocoons will strive and hatched after applying to the garden. They help to fertilize the soil with the help of microorganism such as fungi, bacteria and protozoa. As soil engineer, these worm help to aerate the soil for water and air flow near the roots system.
Overall, I would say very satifying result for worm farming just need to wapit and see the resulut of using vermicast as natural fertilizer

Black soldier fly larvae (BFSL). Another level of composting and waste management. Experimental project by @seranggadegil as part of halal and food security project.
BSF or scientifically known as Hermetia illucens is a type of flies that didnt eat during the adult stage. This is because they do not have a functional mouth part and only lives for 5-8 days just for mating purposes.
In this project, BSF was lured using fermented feedstock, corn kernel and cardboard for egg-laying station. They larvae hatched after 3-4days of incubation and transferred into the bin full of kitchen scrap (meat, milk, fish, veges, rice, egg,) that usually composting worms cant eat.
BSFL have a better decompostion compared to worms as they have a shoter life cycle, eat 3times of their body weight per day (worms only up to half) and could eat almost any food waste which worms couldnt perform.
Just that, they produce a lil abit smelly/fermented odor yet the by product of BSFL composting such as the leachate, dried fertilizers, and the larvae itself could be used as protein sources ( 17-42% ) for animal feeding.
The project need a futher study and proper management because was known to be a pest to stingless bee industry in Malaysia. Even though, BSF are known to be non pathogenic to human due to their adult habits which didnt eat and didnt lay egg in fresh food, the infestion in the stingless bee should be considered.
Its not a big problem as its part of their life cycle and food chain. The issues right now is the stingless bee industry is not a sustainable business as there is no proper way to breed or splitting colonies except cutting trees for their log/colony.
BSF normally attracted to rotting and fermented smell and poor management of harvesting lead to bee bread (bee pollen) and broodcell infestation due to honey leftover.

Florence Foster Jenkins Parody. @umolsyamsyul
Living proof that show positivity and happiness bring us the blessed life. Optimism has been proven to improve immune system, prevent chronic disease and help peopel cope with unfortunate news.
Optimism is a trait that should become more common, as mention by Winston Churchill's quote " a pessimest see the difficulty in every oppoturnity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty." Two days ago, we got a lilbit trouble/car problem after going out from TNJER Selai and I supposed to rush for my next event in Mersing but i didnt decided to do so. My friend even said, I could stay still and calm, as their were not.
A friend of mine, (in this video) teach me a lot of positivity and we try to look something at different angle and perspective. People said, " setiap yang berlaku pasti ada hikmahnya" but do you really realize that? Muhasabah for things that happened? Now you should!
In this video, they confidently sing the song without even care about what people are saying, and it doesnt mean they are ignorance, just that if we are at one step closer to positivity, we are not affected by others' negativity yet our positivity will bring others to a better us.
Optimists and pessimists approach problems differently, and their ability to cope successfully with adversity differs as a result. Now your choice! Thank you sahabat!

Giant Asian River Frog
one of frog species that can be found in Taman Negara Johor Endau Rompin Peta, Limnonectes blythii or known as Giant Asian River Frog/Blyth's River Frog.
from the term giant, we might have to imagine the size they could reach in their lifetime. based on local people of Kg. Peta, the large adult coule weigh more that 1kg about the size of dinner plate. phewww so huge!
the term river, we might say that these frogs inhabit streams with gravel and rocks but actually they can also be found far away from the streams especially the gigantic one.
the major threat to this species is collection for food. for local consumption and even for trading. they love to eat these frogs, as its also tasted like a chicken.
in this video, a representative from local community from Kg. Peta lead and guide us during anuran sampling for research. she said normally they harvest the frog for their own consumption but upon demand especially during Chinese New Year, they will find it for money.
luckily frog is one of animals that breed alot and have potentially high reproductive rates. we just need to maintain the habitat and sustainably harvest these frogs to slow their amount of reduction.
