祝愿大家卫塞吉祥，身心安康，福慧双修，法喜充满！

卫塞节（Wesak Day) 也被称为「佛陀日」。「卫塞」是指月圆日的意思。这是一个特别的日子，因为这个节日不只为了纪念一件事。它纪念佛教伟大的导师—释迦牟尼佛诞生、成道以及涅槃，三大圣事的节日。这一天，国内外许多佛教会或佛教团体皆悬挂佛教旗帜，通过佛法开示、诵经、布施、研讨会、佛教文物展览等活动，促进佛教的团结、促使佛教徒行善、修福修慧，并铭记佛陀一生弘法利生的崇高德行。

有关「卫塞节」这个日子：
1885年3月，前英国驻斯里兰卡总督——阿瑟.戈登爵士，将卫塞节列为斯里兰卡的公共假日。斯里兰卡第一个卫塞节公假落在4月28日的月圆之日。 1952年，在世界佛教徒联谊会的大会中，世界各国代表一致通过，“佛陀日” 或 “卫塞” 座落在每年阳历5月的第一个月圆之日。1962年，卫塞节成为了马来西亚的公共假日之一。这也意味着佛教被认同为我国第二大宗教。直至2000年，「卫塞节」才获得联合国承认为国际性的节日。其正式的名称是 “联合国卫塞节” （United Nations Days of Vesak）。
