Ingjaldshóll boasts a significant historical landmark - its church. Until the 19th century, this grand structure was the third largest church in all of Iceland. Remarkably, Eggert Ólafsson, a renowned natural scientist, poet, and explorer, described it as almost as large as the cathedrals at Skálholt and Hólar. The present-day church still serves the surrounding villages of Hellisandur and Rif and holds a unique title as the world's oldest concrete church.
