M.C. Taekwondo Penang

M.C. Taekwondo Penang M.C. Taekwondo Penang public classes consists of Martial Art & WTF Sport Taekwondo & Free-Style Comb This training is highly recommended for adults and women.

Taekwondo Penang WT (formerly World Taekwondo Federation) classes are open to the public and suitable for all genders and age groups from 5 years of age to adults. Training consists of Traditional & Sport Taekwondo, Power Training & Free-Style Combat Taekwondo. Children are encouraged to take up Traditional Taekwondo classes as a form of exercise which helps to promote discipline, mental and physi

cal well-being. Students who start at younger ages have shown better physical growth and mental awareness compared to others without Taekwondo training from their performance, mind-body co-ordination and stretching during training and the ability to focus and memorize training techniques which can also be applied in school and outside. Sport Taekwondo emphasizes on the explosive speed and power of kicks from the WTF system of Olympic style tournament sparring making it one of the fastest growing sports in the world. Sport Taekwondo is a full contact sparring match between two exponents in protective gear with the objective of scoring points or a knockout within the duration of the match according to the rules of the WTF point sparring system. Power Training as a body-conditioning workout used to strengthen the core and limbs whilst utilizing the movements of Taekwondo during a cardio workout in basic and target training. Power-Breaking or kyukpa is also an integral part of Taekwondo where practitioners will destruct boards, tiles and bricks whilst utilizing the various aspects of Taekwondo such as developed strength, speed, balance, flexibility, concentration and physical mastery of the technique. Free-Style Combat Taekwondo is a form of self-defense using a unique blend and combination of blocks, joint-locks, throws & take-downs, submissions, and ground-work whilst using Taekwondo strikes, punches and kicks. Although Combat Taekwondo has a similar concept of techniques as the growing sport of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), MMA is a combative sport where fighters of similar weight divisions and experience are prepared mentally and physically before confrontation. Combat Taekwondo is more reality based where one must be mentally alert as physical threat can come from any place at any time when we are at most vulnerable and utilizes the fastest and most effective way to neutralize a potential threat by using various techniques and not only brute force. Taekwondo Penang conducts classes for the public, private clubs and in school curriculums.
