Teluk Bahang, sleepy town to most locals here but it is very well known for its tourism activities, long pristine beach and a fishing port. In fact, this place has the most tourism players on the island! In English, the name means The Bay of Heat, mainly due to high temperature sea breezes in this area. And which tourism spots are found here? They are The Tropical Spice Gardens(spice of life), Penang National Park(the smallest national park in the world!), Craft Batik(unique traditional hand painted textile), Escape Adventure Play(the longest water slide in the world!), Entopia(the largest butterfly sanctuary in Malaysia), Teluk Bahang Forest Eco Park(for glamping, camping, picnics and waterfalls), the Teluk Bahang Water Dam(the largest water dam in the island), Boulder Valley glamping site, Tropical Fruit Farm(a must go to see variety of Malaysian fruits and New breeds) and the local mamak stall near the roundabout which started off the first Roti Canai Ice Cream craze! Also there is a good collection of accommodation found here, namely the Bahang Bay Hotel and The Angsana. Practically can spend a whole day here for Cuti Cuti Malaysia away from the bustling city. Make sure your camera is well charged.

Pearl Hill, my everyday view, is known originally as Mount Erskine. The area around Mount Erskine is known for its vast lands of cemetery for the Chinese which encompasses the Hokkien, Cantonese and Teochew clans and it started around early 1800s. Today Mt Erskine area is also known for its upmarket property. On top of Pearl Hill is a famous Tua Pek Kong Temple(Divine Grand Uncle Temple) which overlooks to the sea. One of the earliest grave sites dates back to 1795. Also in this area is the final resting place of a famous Chinese Kapitan, Kapitan Chung Keng Kwee. Mount Erskine was named after John James Erskine, a member of George Town's committee of assessors around 1810, this committee would become the predecessor to the present-day Penang Island City Council!
