Going greener.

We have received our Net Energy Metering (NEM) approval from the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia, and are installing solar panels on our rooftop in our effort to reduce electricity use.

Once completed, all we have to do is wait for Tenaga Nasional to install a bi-directional meter and we’ll be good to go!

Last year we started our recycling bin for plastics and aluminium cans. Organic wastes, paper wastes are turned into compost for our plants. We use solar-powered lights to light up our farm at night. Even our CCTV cameras are solar-powered.

In our effort to go even greener, we have engaged renewable energy expert Gading Kencana to install solar panels to power up our home, and reduce greenhouse emissions.

They came over to do a pre-installation site survey.

Lot 1858, Sungai Semungkis, Mukim of Ulu Langat (now Hulu Langat) was first created on 11 January 1926, and had two subsequent owners who planted rubber trees on this five-acre land. Our father purchased the land in 1974 when tigers, leopards and communist terrorists still roamed this area, and it was only accessible by foot or on Land Rovers from Dusun Tua (16th Mile). Durian trees replaced old rubber trees, and with the Semungkis river cutting across the land, it became our childhood private picnic area during weekends. Our octogenarian parents still come here from time to time to enjoy the fruits of their labour. Now, 1858 Semungkis takes only about 25-30 minutes from KLCC through AKLEH and SUKE and this is now not just ours, but also your private family picnic getaway located in a fruit orchard. Thank you to those who asked. We have been spared from the floods that hit Sungai Gabai, Sungai Lui, Sungai Serai, Batu 16, Batu 17, Sungai Michu and Nanding areas. However, the whole of Hulu Langat are still without electricity. As TNB is working on the restoration of electricity supply and have restored many other affected areas in other districts, we are hopeful that we’ll have electricity supply back some time today or tomorrow.
