Seremban is the capital city of the state of Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. It began as a tin-mining settlement in the 1840s and is situated approximately 25 miles (40 km) inland from Port Dickson on the Strait of Malacca. The city historically developed around the area known as Sungai Ujong, which emerged in the 1870s. It has since grown into a major city and administrative center in the region.
