Blue-throated bee-eaters typically hunt and capture their prey on the flight. Usually perch from a vantage point like protruding or open branches, scanning their surroundings and looking for any potential prey, before it’s swoop down onto it.
Once the prey spotted, the bee-eater would fly towards it, snatch the helpless prey in mid-air and return to its perch to feast on it.

It’s has been more than a year since the rediscovery of this elusive bird and with only a few confirmed sightings back in 90’s, this rediscovery has been a sensational!
Evaluated as Endangered by the IUCN, number in the wild are unknown and with ongoing threats for this pheasant, the only hope now with the rediscovery is it give us a hopeful prospect for this bird survival in the future.
