Orangutan Studio was started by artists who, being lovers of art and nature, as well as tattooing and body modification, were seeking to create an environment that was ideal for creativity and for sharing the various art skills they possessed. Orangutan studio is a space that focuses primarily on art for the body; tattoos, piercings, and henna artwork. But, we also provide design services for a nu

mber of projects, including portraits, murals, business cards and flyers, illustration, diver stamps, and others. Original artwork and crafts are also available, created by our artists. The Orangutan artists have years of combined experience in the tattoo industry, both internationally and domestically. Come in for a look and a friendly chat!

Tattooing Lisa, the head chef of Kabulungou

Motivational sharing from Dr.Richard Gunting. The Chief tells us the history of this ancestral land and the ongoing community efforts to preserve and develop their customary forest. Here, the meeting was attended by villagers from Kampung Balantos, Kampung Romol , Kampung Balaron and the Sabah Society NGO group.

On our hike back, we found some forest medicine plants pointed out by Khairol telling us the name and what are they used for. We believe the rainforest is the home for many medicine and cure, some still unknown to the outside world.

Went for a dip in the waterfall after lunch. We ended spending the whole afternoon by the water.

A walk around the living quarters. Our rooms, shower, toilet, kitchen and the vege herb garden.

The clear water from the spring is also the water source connected through a gravity pipe system. Such a luxury compared to the rusted pipe water supply shortage we are experiencing in the big city.

40 minutes later we reached our assisted camping site at Kabolongo waterfall

The Magunatip bamboo dance of the Murut is Borneo's famous performance known worldwide - the admirable skill that emphasizes on teamwork and cooperation

Grace of the dancers is the visual language everybody can relate to - understand the story to be told in a narrative that speaks through movement and music instead of alphabets and words.
