The Fadaelo Project

Fadaelo is a Manggarai word which means “love each other”. This word derives from the people of Manggarainese who are residing in the western parts of the Flores island Indonesia. The founder of The Fadaelo Project has been travelling across Indonesia since 2012 and she is focusing on the less developed area, especially in the East Indonesia. At the early of 2015 , her first visits to Desa Wae Reb

o, Manggarai Barat Flores, Indonesia was an eye opener. She has discovered that the villagers of Desa Wae Rebo are lack of medical attention and most of the women and children are not in great health condition. The majority of the women in Desa Wae Rebo are suffering from chronic Tuberculosis, body aches and also tooth aches. Flu and cough are some of the normal symptoms among the children there. This is due to the location of Desa Wae Rebo itself. The only way to reach the village is by hiking uphill through jungle trail. It is very hard for them to get medicine supply or to go to the nearest clinic in Desa Denge. In which they need to track downhill 9 kilometres (3 hours by walk) to reach there. In short, Flores is a less developed island. With that unfortunate situation, our mission is purely to help everything that we could to ease their problem in any ways.
