Mengikut senarai, terdapat 6 sub stesen yang terdapat di dalam Taman Kinabalu. Kawasan Sub stesen melangkaui 100km yang merangkumi 3 daerah iaitu Ranau, Kota Belud dan Kota Marudu.

Walaubagaimanapun, hanya 4 dari 6 sub stesen menjadi titik permulaan pendakian gunung:

1. Sayap sub stesen - Kota Belud
Gunung Minodtuhan

2. Serinsim sub stesen - Kota Marudu
Gunung Nambuyukong

3. Monggis sub stesen - Ranau
Gunung Tambuyukon

4. Mesilau sub stesen - Kundasang (telah ditutup)
Pendakian ke Panalaban

Sub stesen selebihnya ialah:

5. Poring Hot Spring sub stesen - Ranau

6. Nalapak sub stesen - Kota Marudu

Fungsi sub stesen di wujudkan adalah untuk membantu penguatkuasaan Enakmen Tanah 1984 dalam kawasan taman dan menjaga flora dan fauna yang berpotensi untuk kemajuan kepada Taman-Taman Sabah dan seterusnya untuk negara.

Sub stesen yang diwujudkan bukanlah hanya semata-mata untuk menjadi pusat penguatkuasaan. Terdapat juga pelbagai aktiviti lain berkaitan ‘nature’ yang menarik seperti jungle trekking, bird watching, trekking ke waterfall dan lain-lain.

Setiap sub stesen dilengkapi dengan kemudahan asas seperti air, elektrik, tandas dan dewan untuk berteduh.

Denali is taller than Everest.

You read that right.

The peak of Mt. Everest is 29,032 feet (8,849m) above sea level, making it the mountain with the highest elevation. However, the base of Mount Everest is estimated to be 17,000 feet (5,200m), making the vertical rise of the mountain roughly only 12,000 feet (3,660m)!

Denali, however, has a very low base height of about 2000 feet (610m) with a peak of 20,310 feet. Making Denali's vertical rise estimated at 18,000 feet (5,500m)! Using this measurement it qualifies Denali as the tallest mountain on land in the world! This difference in elevation makes Denali an extremely challenging mountain to summit from base to peak.

Combine that with the lack of foothills and a low point in the park at about 250 feet (76m) above sea level. There are places in the park where you can stand and look up at a full 20,000 feet (6,100m) of mountain! All of these things play into the WOW factor of seeing Denali in all of its glory!
