📌 One of Japan's three scenic views
📌 The sandbar about 3km long & is located in Miyazu Bay in northern Kyoto Prefecture.
📌 Amanohashidate roughly translates to "bridge in heaven", and it is said that the sandbar resembles a meandering pathway connecting heaven and earth when it is viewed from the mountains at either end of the bay.

(Funaya Fisherman’s Boat Houses Village)
📌 Ine is about 15km north of Amanohashidate & is a town located around the Ine Bay in northern Kyoto Prefecture.
📌 This working town has a long and rich history as a fishing village and is regarded as one of the most beautiful villages in Japan.
📌 The unique aspect of Ine are its funaya which literally meaning "boat houses".
📌 Funaya are the boat garages used to protect the boats & make them last longer.
📌 These traditional waterfront buildings contain garages for boats on their first floors and residential space on the upper floors.
📌 They are also used as storerooms to hld household goods & workspaces to make processed foods such as dried fish, repairing the fishing nets or preparation to go fishing.
📌 Today there over 200 funaya remaining along the bay.

Temple
📌 Is located on the northern side of Amanohashidate & on a mountainside overlooking Amanohashidate” which is considered one of the three most scenic spots in Japan.
📌 There is an endless line of visitors to the temple, as it is the 28th temple of the Saigoku Kannon Pilgrimage.
📌 Nariaiji Temple is a temple of the Shingon sect of Japanese Buddhism.
📌 The temple was originally located near the top of Mount Tsuzumigatake, but was moved to its current location further down the mountain after a landslide about 250 years ago.

📍 From the promenade you can get a close up view of the Main Line passing by on the new Amarube Viaduct.
📍 You can also find a little thrill by looking down through the transparent glass floor near the tip of the sky promenade.

📍 Shigeru Mizuki is a writer, most known for "Gegege no Kitaro", in which he has depicted the Japanese folklore creatures known as Yokai.

📍 is the home of Shigeru Mizuki & is a popular destination for children and adults alike.

📍 Mizuki Shigeru Road is a street dedicated to all the characters that appear in his manga works.

📍 The road, extending from Sakaiminato Station into the city proper, is an 8️⃣0️⃣0️⃣-meter-long arcade with some 1️⃣7️⃣7️⃣bronze statues of ’s fantasy creatures on display, including details on each character.

📍 Stopping for a close look at each of these could take all day! A stroll along the road at night, when all the statues are lit up, is an altogether different delight.

📍 From the healing Kappa Spring, to the Yokai Jinja, a sort of fantasy shrine at which fortune slips can be drawn, to the Yokai Post, where mail with the ‘fairy postmark’ gets delivered, Mizuki Shigeru Road will surround you with bizarre creatures.
