Metro Taipei terkenal dengan kebersihan dan kecekapannya, tetapi ramai pelancong asing tidak tahu bahawa makan dan minum di dalam MRT adalah dilarang. Kenapa?🤔

Ramai yang beranggapan larangan ini hanya untuk memastikan kebersihan stesen dan gerabak terjaga. Namun, sebab utamanya lebih daripada itu! Larangan ini bertujuan mengelakkan sisa makanan menarik serangga atau haiwan kecil seperti lipas dan tikus, yang boleh merosakkan sistem automasi dan mengganggu operasi perkhidmatan MRT.
·
Menurut Mass Rapid Transit Act (大眾捷運法), sesiapa yang melanggar peraturan ini boleh dikenakan denda antara NT$1,500 (~RM210) hingga NT$7,500 (~RM1,100). Larangan ini termasuk makan, minum, mengunyah gula-gula getah atau buah pinang, meludah kahak atau sari buah pinang, serta membuang sampah sembarangan di kawasan platform MRT.

Namun, terdapat pengecualian bagi ibu menyusu, individu yang perlu mengambil ubat, atau mereka yang mengalami masalah gula darah rendah. Mereka dibenarkan makan atau minum selepas memaklumkan kepada petugas stesen MRT.
