What’s a must-have during CNY? Many would say, of course, 𝐁𝐚𝐤 𝐊𝐰𝐚!
·
In Malaysia, also known as “𝑟𝑜𝑢𝑔𝑎𝑛” in Mandarin, is a beloved treat, especially during Chinese New Year. This salty-sweet pork jerky is made from juicy pork that’s marinated and grilled to perfection, then preserved with a delicious honey syrup for that perfect balance of sweet and savory🤤
·
It’s not only enjoyed as a snack but is also a popular gift during the festive season, adding to the celebrations✨
·
And now, there are Halal Chicken Bak Kwa varieties available, so everyone can join in and enjoy this tasty treat together. 🐔
·
Over in Taiwan, comes in two distinct varieties—thick and thin (𝑎𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛 𝑎𝑠 0.01 𝑐𝑚, 𝑎𝑙𝑚𝑜𝑠𝑡 𝑝𝑎𝑝𝑒𝑟-𝑙𝑖𝑘𝑒!). You can choose between crispy or chewy textures, with flavors like original, black sesame, black pepper, sakura prawn, seaweed, almond crispy, and many more😋. Plus, they’re often packaged in cute boxes, making them the perfect souvenir! 🎁

Do you know how Buddhist monasteries and temples in Taiwan ring in the Chinese New Year?

Traditionally, Buddhist monasteries and temples ring the great bells 108 times on the Lunar New Year's Eve to symbolize the removal of all sentient beings' 108 kinds of afflictions. Dharma Drum Mountain in Taiwan will hold the bell Ringing Ceremony to pray for the world while ringing in the Chinese New Year of the Snake.

Let's watch Dharma Drum Mountain's livestream of Chinese New Year's Eve Bell Ringing Ceremony on January 28th at 9:30 pm : https://newyearbell.ddm.org.tw/live_tw_3.php

𝑷𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔, 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒐𝒏𝒆’𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒚𝒐𝒖! 🍍
·
In Malaysia🇲🇾, it’s all about #黃梨餅 (Pineapple Tarts)—tiny golden bites of pure joy that are a must-buy, especially during Chinese New Year🧨! These buttery, melt-in-your-mouth pastries are packed with tangy-sweet pineapple jam that really packs a punch. Whether rolled, flower-shaped, or open-faced, they’re the life of every festive celebration. 𝙒𝒂𝙧𝒏𝙞𝒏𝙜: 𝒀𝙤𝒖 𝒄𝙖𝒏’𝒕 𝒔𝙩𝒐𝙥 𝙖𝒕 𝒋𝙪𝒔𝙩 𝙤𝒏𝙚! 😍
·
Over in Taiwan🇹🇼, we have #鳳梨酥 (Pineapple Cakes)—a beloved souvenir that’s all about that signature square shape and crumbly texture. The filling? Smooth, mildly sweet pineapple jam that’s less tangy but oh-so-satisfying. These little squares of heaven are the ultimate souvenir—trust us, your suitcase won’t have enough space! 🎁
