White Water River, or Baishui River, is located nearby Yunshanping (cable car) and Ganhaizi, at the eastern foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, approximately 30km (18.6 miles) north of Lijiang Ancient Town. The river was formed by the streams melted from the glaciers and snow of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. The riverbed is made up of off-white crushed limestone and marbles, making the water look white, hence the name.
White Water River (local people also call it Milk River) is clean, pure and sacred for the local Naxi people. It flows eastward and finally meets the Black Water River, forming the White and Black River in Lijiang. The White River terraced waterfall is not 100% natural but partly man-made. Still it is really beautiful in white color and unique in crescent shape. Many travelers consider it a smaller version of Pamukale in Turkiye.

Basket boat (round boat or coracle) is a Central Vietnamese signature watercraft, an own invention of fishermans. It features a circle shape, waterproofed and made of interwoven bamboo. Local people propel it by a paddle while sitting inside or on bamboo seating. The size of the boat is tailored to the conditions of the area.
In Hoi An, its owners use it to access small, shallow and interlaced waterways that were hard or inaccessible for common boats. They aim to catch fish, shrimp, crab, etc and cut and collect the palm leaf to buy (for house roofing). On the beach, it’s also helpful to assist fishers to move across the shallow sea, to approach the big boats. In recent decades, locals have encouraged tourists to visit their hometown’s palm forests.

A ride along the Golden Circle in the south of Iceland will show you the breathtaking Gullfoss Waterfall. There you traverse a narrow path providing close-up views of the massive, two-tiered waterfall below.

The Roman Hippodrome in Istanbul, Turkiye, served as an ancient racetrack where historical chariot races, major social events and athletic competitions were held. It was decorated with the Egyptian Obelisk and other famous columns along its spina, a raised central platform used to divide the race track.
Its construction began in 203 by the Emperor Septimus Severus and it was subsequently enlarged by Constantine the Great. According to one estimation, it had a capacity for an audience of 100,000 people. It was approximately 429 meters long and 119 meters wide in an oval formation.

The historic and modern center of the city, the Piazza del Duomo (the square surrounding the cathedral’s base) remains a popular meeting place, hangout and hub of Milanese life.
