Halong Bay, also known as Hạ Long Bay, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and popular travel destination in Quảng Ninh province, Vietnam. The name Hạ Long means "descending dragon" in Vietnamese.

The bay features thousands of limestone karsts and islets in various shapes and sizes, rising from the emerald waters of the Gulf of Tonkin. These dramatic rock formations were carved by wind and water erosion over millions of years.

The Yongding Tulou are distinctive, multi-story earthen communal residences built in the mountainous regions of Yongding District, Longyan City, in Fujian Province, China, primarily between the 15th and 20th centuries. Constructed by the Hakka people, these "earthen buildings" ("Tulou" literally translates to this) served as both fortified dwellings and community living spaces, housing entire clans of up to 800 people within their thick rammed earth walls.
Their unique circular or square designs, with only one main entrance and minimal lower-level windows, were initially conceived for defense against bandits and wild animals. Over time, these structures evolved, showcasing the ingenuity and communal spirit of the Hakka people, and in 2008, a collection of Fujian Tulou, including those in Yongding, were recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Sites for their exceptional architectural tradition and harmonious relationship with their environment.
