𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲-𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲? In Malaysia, it's a legal requirement to declare all transactions with domestic companies. This means that in certain scenarios, taxpayers must issue self-billing e-invoices. For instance, when acquiring goods/services from foreign suppliers not using Malaysia's MyInvois system, taxpayers must issue a self-billing e-invoice to record the expense. Self-billing invoices are also necessary for various transactions such as payments to agents, foreign suppliers, e-commerce transactions, and more. Stay compliant with e-invoicing regulations. Are you ready to embark on the e-invoicing journey for your business?
𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀:
🗓️ 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 : Starting from this date, companies with annual income or sales exceeding RM100 million are required to transition to e-invoicing.
🗓️ 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 : For other income categories, e-invoicing will be gradually phased in, ensuring a smooth transition process.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗲-𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲:
The LHDN e-Invoice is a sophisticated, machine-readable format. In Malaysia, it exclusively accepts XML and JSON files, making PDFs, DOCs, and JPEGs a thing of the past.
Each invoice must undergo validation by the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) before being printed as a verified invoice for your customer. Once validated, the supplier shares the cleared e-Invoice with the buyer, incorporating a QR code provided by IRBM. This QR code allows for easy validation via the MyInvois Portal.
𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝘆:
E-Invoicing covers various transaction types, including B2B, B2C, and B2G. All individuals and legal entities engaged in commercial activities in Malaysia must adhere to e-Invoice requirements.
