It's been a while since my last update. These past 3 months have been rather hectic. We've had 90% occupancy for 3 months in a row. Alhamdulillah. International guests have been from France, Poland, US, Brunei, Netherlands, Yemen and Germany. Possibly due to summer break. During the school holidays, we had many Malaysian small families stay with us, heck, even a group of superbikers!😅
Airbnb reviews have all been 5 stars much to our delight. Thank you to all the guests for that!🤗
Our main priority was to provide top notch customer service, even providing concierge service. We especially kept our place at low density occupancy, only 5 sometimes 6 in each apartment at a time. Max. We have 14 main house rules which covers the basics- no loud noise after 10pm, TURN OFF AC when you go out( my pet peeve)etc, etc.😅
I would say staying at Escape is from the old school era, caretakers are around 24/7, anything broken or needed fixing is seen to almost immediately. Hosts greet you and will sit down and talk to you if that's what you like, or we completely stay out of your way so you can have all the peace and privacy you came for.
We are about 10 to 20 minutes drive to shops and restaurants and the stone's throw ( literally) beach is usually deserted enough for the landing off the wonderful turtles to lay their eggs. Heaven.
Hotel type guests may not enjoy what we don't offer- no room service, no swimming pool( why? We have a beautiful sea with calm waters)No buffet breakfast, no bell hop, no gym. Etc, etc.
So for the selected few, this maybe what you are looking for:
Peace and quiet.Close to Nature.
Inspiring sunrise to view.
Modern amenities such as free WiFi, your own kitchen and washing machine, flatscreen with Netflix, fully air-conditioned or airy spaces when you open up the balcony doors and let the sea breeze envelope the whole apartment..
To prevent mushrooming scammers, we are only found on Airbnb, Google business,FB and IG. I rarely pick up calls( too many robotic scammers telling me to press a button to speak to an officer)Just WhatsApp me with number of guests( Including children please)check in and check out dates and I'll get back to you.No calls pls.

Uncle Tan, a return guest, gets up at the crack of dawn to capture some really awesome photos of our beach and surroundings which I will share with you from time to time. Always in awe of sunrise photos. Same sun but different shades and colours. Everyday is a new day. Thanks Uncle Tan!😎

I just realised that I hardly show any pictures of our interior😆
It's always the animals and the sea( which I am obsessed about) But I do lurve a nice clean big bed with at least 800 threadcount sheets, blackout curtains and an attached bathroom in each room is a must!

Recently I read on a homestay review page that beaches on the coast of Terengganu is not swimmable. I beg to differ. This 3 year old is about to dip into the sea. You can see how calm the water is and shallow for at least 50 metres. Perfect for small children. Early morning is the best time, it does get choppy sometimes, usually only during Monsoon. Come and check it out!🙂

I love it when my guests stay here to enjoy our quiet beach. Bring a mat, an umbrella, and leave a kite flying in the sky while you dip in our very clear waters! 😎

It was quite difficult to get a clear picture of this yellow bellied sunbird as it was always flitting about.
Anyway, a big thank you to all guests who stayed with us during the school holidays. We had a number of challenges to deal with this time.
1. Water supply disrupted
2. Aircon kept tripping
3. Washing machine broke down
4. Autogate kept getting stuck
5. Toilet flush button stuck
6. Kettle in the apartment didn't work
Good thing we were live in hosts and managed to solve the problems as they came.

Meet my 2 cats. MR. April is the big guy lying down. 6 years old, a hunter and very loving. Loves to jump on your lap and knead whilst drooling. Mostly outdoor. Locky is female,2 years old, doesn't like to be touched or snuggled and only wants to play rough. She hisses at strangers. Mostly indoor.
2 very different characters but love them to bits. 😻

I love going to the beach to catch the sunrise. Was surprised to see a sandbank formation. Wasn't there before. No new turtle tracks. We saw a purple washed up jellyfish.
Somehow the gentle waves forces you to reflect how good your life is. Never take anything for granted.

Our first homegrown markisar fruit gets bitten by some animal. Monkey or squirrel? What do you think?
After no rain and soaring temperatures we finally have some rain today! Yay.

Always be happy and content with what you have. You will never be disappointed. That doesn't mean you can't reach for the stars though!

It wasn't the fact that our fridge and freezer collapsed when the floods hit us, but it was the little collection of notes posted with fridge magnets that were ruined that broke my heart. Having a brand new one for the start of the new year has brought us hope and calm. Thank you Izad and Joe! You made our day!😁

Apartment balcony stretches from infront of all bedrooms and living area plus kitchen. There is an adjoining door between 2 apartments for bigger groups. Total is 72 feet long.(Nearly 22 metres!)

Amidst all the chaos of an early Raya surprise and people rushing home, my part of the world remains calm, turtles still come to lay eggs, and the sun illuminates the lapping waves, not a soul in sight.
