I was exhausted after laying the coarse grain heat-resistant mixture of concrete over the dome (previous post). While I let the dome dry for 72 hours, I cannot wait to make my first pizza and roast my favourite Peking duck in it. Previously, I have started making the concrete base to support the oven. My wood-fired oven is 4ft in diameter and 2ft high. The oven is rested on a calcium silicate board to withstand the heat from the burning wood. Next, the fired bricks are placed on top of the calcium silicate boards. These fired bricks can withstand above 1000 degree Celsius but it has to be carefully positioned and sealed with mortar so that the heat produced from the burning of the wood are retained within the diameter....

Langkawi is known as the Jewel of Kedah. Hence, we met up with Angkatan Pelukis Kedah or better known as APK, which was established in 1977, the second oldest art association.
