A Night at the Zoo - Camp programme

Zoo Negara Malaysia is located outside of the city of Kuala Lumpur and has been in operation for over 50 years now.

Being the biggest Zoo in Malaysia in terms of size and number of specimens, Zoo Negara is home to over 500 species of flora and fauna (5000 individual animals) comprising of birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, insects, fish and close to150 species of flora.

Zoo Negara is open to the public from 9.00am to 5.00pm daily, and is now making its venue available in the evening for special programmes & events. Zoo Negara is also making every effort to prepare open-concept exhibit for all its animals and strives to be a world class zoo.

Through ‘Dances with Nature’ - ‘A Night at the Zoo’ camping progamme the students will be provided a platform to witness first hand the nocturnal activities at Zoo Negara. It also allows the students to camp overnight amongst the wild animals, and the flora & fauna, within the safe compound of Zoo Negara. All this will be enhanced with fun-filled activities that we have lined-up for the students.

Kuda Kepang workshop @Kuala Selangor

Kuda Lumping (Javanese: Jaran Kepang or Jathilan, Malay: Kuda Kepang, English: Flat Horse) is a traditional Javanese dance depicting a group of horsemen. Dancers "ride" horses made from woven bamboo and decorated with colorful paints and cloth. Generally, the dance portrays troops riding horses, but another type of Kuda Lumping performance also incorporates trances and magic tricks. When the "possessed" dancer is performing the dance in trance conditions, he can display unusual abilities, such as eating glass and resistance to the effects of whipping or hot coals. Although the dance is native to Java, Indonesia, it also performed by Javanese communities in Suriname, Malaysia and Singapore.
