Your Story is Worth Sharing - Dato Mohammad Rizan Hassan (King Rizan)
Who would have thought, he used to be a former juvenile criminal, but now he is recognized by the ASEAN Awards & Malaysian Youth Fighter!
Seriously, no one thought that the recipient of the National Youth Award and ASEAN Youth Person, Mohammad Rizan Hassan, had a dark side to his past.
But what is interesting, now he has successfully held the position of MBM Head of Information and is also the Director of Business Development, Tekat Auto Terminal Training and has won the Corporate Employee category award (public/private sector) in the "Iclif Leadership Energy Awards ".
How it all started? Sadly, the hardships of life taught him to do evil.
At that time, luxurious living and good food were not in his life dictionary. According to Rizan, his family's daily menu is bean porridge while rice and fried fish can only be enjoyed once a month or on certain days.
He who comes from a poor family and has many siblings, finally chose the wrong path where at the age of ten he already started learning to steal and threaten people to get money.
Today, he has established Kolej Tekat in Kajang, Selangor to help troubled teenagers so they don't drift away.
It is clear here that a person's success does not lie in who he was in the past. Don't just because he made a mistake, we continue to punish and make fun of him. Like Mohamad Rizan's story, who would have thought that he could succeed to this day, and thankfully, with the second chance given to his life!
Join us in Dato Rizan's journey and how he turned he turned over to a new leaf with the second chance given in this 6-min video. It's so inspiring!

The power of second chances.
Dato Rizan was a juvenile delinquent, but now he is being recognized with awards of the ASEAN Awards and the Malaysian Youth Fighter. Even though I don't know him personally, his story touched me. Often, we make assumptions about people who are not like us, but have we ever taken the time to understand them? We sometimes judge too quickly without knowing their background and experiences.
Dato Rizan's journey is truly inspiring. Despite facing poverty and getting into trouble as a young person, he was able to turn his life around when given a second chance. He is appointed and awarded as the Head of Information of the Malaysian Youth Council (Ketua Penerangan Majlis Belia Malaysia), a Country & ASEAN Youth Figure (Tokoh Belia Negara dan ASEAN) for 2011, and an Outstanding International Volunteer for 2012.

Your Story is Worth Sharing – Shareen Dato' Abdul Ghani
Shareen, a visionary leader with strong capabilities and competencies in strategy development and execution, organisational management, and integrated programme design at the firm, national, and regional (ASEAN) levels. With her demonstrated ability in high-level policymaking, negotiations, building effective collaborations, and workable ecosystems, she has a strong track record in delivering good interventions and advocating cross-cutting issues. Shareen is also highly competent in stakeholder engagements and management of complex and diverse stakeholder groups in both the public and private sectors.
But what many people don't know is that Shareen was once a dyslexic child. Despite facing challenges with learning, Shareen embraced her special inherent abilities and turned them into strengths that propelled her to where she is today.
Currently, Shareen is the CEO & Co-Founder and Director of Sorga Innovation, a boutique advisory firm specializing in human capital/talent strategies and solutions. Before founding Sorga Innovation, Shareen held key leadership positions, including the CEO of Talent Corporation and the Director of Corporate Responsibility at Khazanah Nasional Berhad. She also played an instrumental role in developing the corporate responsibility strategy for national-level initiatives in Malaysia, such as PINTAR Foundation (Education sector), Yayasan Sejahtera (Poverty Eradication), and GEMS Malaysia (Youth Employability Scheme). Prior to that, Shareen was the COO at MERCY Malaysia, where she served in humanitarian missions to Darfur, Sri Lanka, Iran, Aceh, and remote areas throughout Malaysia.
Shareen's exceptional leadership and contributions have not gone unnoticed. She was a board member of the Geneva-based Humanitarian Accountability Partnership (2009) and a recipient of the Pingat Darjah Paduka Mahkota Perak for her contributions towards humanitarian service changes within Malaysia's soci
As a company, we have immense respect for women leaders who hold top positions in organizations. One such individual that we admire is Shareen, whom we have been following closely since 2018 through various news outlets, articles, and conferences.
Shareen is a passionate advocate for progressive policies that shape the future of work, promote women in leadership and the workforce, and foster workplace diversity and inclusion. She has also made significant contributions toward benchmarking Malaysia's workplace policies and practices on a global level. What's even more remarkable is that we were surprised to learn that Shareen has dyslexia, a learning difference that can impact one's abilities to learn and process information. However, her success in becoming a corporate leader at a young age serves as a testament that dyslexia does not have to be a barrier to one's potential.
We feel privileged that Shareen accepted our invitation to share her story at our event. Her journey serves as a beacon of hope for individuals with dyslexia and their families, demonstrating that greatness can be achieved despite any challenges. Shareen's dyslexia was never a visible obstacle, and her achievements speak volumes about her abilities and drive to succeed.

When you hear the word "strength", what comes to mind?
For many people, it may conjure images of something big, powerful, or physically imposing. However, if you have had the opportunity to meet or know Alvin personally, you will quickly discover that strength is not necessarily tied to size or physical prowess but rather originates from the mind.
