Being collaborated by Pearson, Indian Graduates Association Universiti Putra Malaysia (IGAUPM), MARDI and Taylor’s University, the main aim of this project is to create alternative income and tourism activities, through the development of a country vacation, or farm stay, linked to a farm tour. In recognition of the associated benefits in such development, the project aims further at:
- Initiating
farm stay tourism in Malaysia and offer people a way to reconnect with their agrarian roots or to form new roots.
- Providing a starting point to the agricultural tourism sector in Malaysia including suggestions of various promotions and marketing tools.
- Subsequently, providing a source of income for the members of the dairy farming community in and around, by introducing tourism focused on the area's nature, agriculture and culture.
- Helping the dairy farming community to develop the best tourist facilities, provide tourism related advices to farmers, their families, and some residents in the local community in order for them to take on different roles, such as homestay hosts, farm tour guides and activity coordinators for tourism.
