"I saw a youth that committed su***de because of money issues and it broke my my heart" Brenda Yong many would have just let it stay just another story but you turned it into a movement and vision that's starts financial literacy at the level where children can be taught and empowered. I stilling the values of integrity and honesty, to serve the nation.

From the Wealth of Life Children programme to experiential learning using the board games. And now the FINTEGRITY comic book launch. A PROUD Malaysian movement, Endorsed by the child psychologist and the Coliation of Business Integrity Malaysia.

Looking forward to working towards national level policy with Youth and Sports Ministry and Education Ministry level.

As we begin to look at closing the year, reflecting. The borders reopened for international travels in April 2022 for Singapore and Malaysia, after two long dark years of being locked down.

Only by God's grace and mercy, His provision that carried us through. In our dark days we could not see but, He was there walking us through. We just need to learn to live by faith and not by sight.

Scaling the heights again, believing is Ephesians 3:20 for us and our team. God's plans is greater than my heart and eyes.

Believe

And take the leap of faith!
No analysis paralysis here.

Caffeine adrenaline helps as a booster too.

22/03/2022

2 long years, where International incoming business is affected as our borders close.
2 years of valuable wins and loss.
Clinging on to God's fresh grace daily and a daily surrender.

The world keeps turnin'
It gets merry like a merry go 'round
It gets cold like a frozen winter
Well I change like summer fall
But I know love is all in all
Seeds we're always sowing
The grace is always blowing
We've just got to lift the sail
And we're bound to hit the shore
We'll finally calm this storm.

Are we carrying battles beyond our own shoulders and strength ? How often do we I pray about everything. I am sure Father God wants us to go to Him, even in the littlest and deepest need.

And thank Him for all He has done.
☝️ So often forgotten.

Road Warrior Story 4 - The life of a DMC specialist. Going to the length and breadth by road to promote our destination.

“All journeys have secret destinations of which the traveler is unaware.”

Engaging the trade together with Singapore Tourism Board, to meet the travel trade in the 5 cities across South India by bus. A wonderful experience of seeing the southern highways.

I remember the honking orchestra throughout our journey, the sights of the electric windmills on the stretch to coimbatore, the yummy food along the way, and reaching the southern most tip of india - Kanya Kumari.

Learning about the people and the way of life.

Understanding our differences and similarity to better represent the destination we are promoting, Singapore.

I remember the smell of of the rainforest,
running my feet on the pristine sand.

Hearing the sound of the nocturnal animals, as I doze of to sleep.
The cool breezy night, and the smell of the sea.

Indulge in a little luxury.

First sales trip to Bangkok, with then road warrior for SEA, Sethoe, we sat in the hotel room at night tallying our agent's address against the Bangkok city map and train lines to prepare for our next day's appointment. Don't know how we survive thai language and the many detours, with our bag of travel brochures. Sawadika kapunkap!

Onward graduation to second train city, sales calls to Hong Kong, with Ho, using the MTR, where finding our agents' offices were easier by train vs the notorious Red Taxis, where identifying the right exit at the MTR would save you a lot of time walking up and down the street. I learnt Speed Walking.

Step by step graduation to chasing trains across cities in Taipei, Australia, London, Paris and Berlin with Low for sales visits and trade shows. Even encountering a strike in paris where we had to walk miles to the next office because no train, or cab was available.

The joy of arriving, at a destination.
The joy of walking out the exits of the train station to discover a new location.
The joy of people watching, and seeing how life evolves in a new city.
The joy of ending the day, though tired but fulfilled..

What's your train story, in chasing for your next piece of business ?

“You don’t always need a plan. Sometimes, you just need to breathe, trust, let go, and see what happens.”

Business trip for contracting in India for winter departures.

Most flights from Kuala Lumpur to India departs late night to land midnight in an Indian city.

Landing at midnight in Delhi and realising my luggage was missing, is overwhelming. It would be 2am in KL.

Clad only in a pink dress and sandals, and realising I have no other clothes or toiletries and my work documents are in that same missing luggage.

Lost reports and multiple calls to the airline, the hunt for the luggage began 💼

Bracing myself in a day old clothes and funky sandals, makeup (loan from room mate), and no documents for contracting, too late to feel sorry for myself. Road warriors spirit up! 🤞

Lessons like this embeds deep in my memory.

Lucky clients were kind, said they would allow me to email the proposal after my verbal presentation. And had pointed me to where I could buy fresh clothes. (Marks & Spencers India is cheaper than in Malaysia👏)

Survived Delhi without my bag. Day 4, MAS managed to send my bag to the next onward city Mumbai.

Lessons in chasing the missing luggage:
1- Try not to travel during a festive day one. It was the first day or EID when I took off from KLIA, the luggage was found stuck in the airport somewhere.
2 - From then on, I carry my documents, extra set of clothes and make up kit in a handcarry.
3 - Don't compromise on the rule you set for yourself. The last I decided to forgo my extra set of clothes in a handcarry because I was going home... a bad weather stranded me in Amsterdam for a night before my birthday, without any change of clothes.

What's your luggage story?

“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all” ~ Helen Keller

First business trip to Jakarta in 2008 for sales call :

1 - The abandoned passport at KLIA immigration gate. Only to remember after nearly boarding! Thankful KLIA immigration officers were vigilant to keep the passport.

Second business trip to Jakarta, near Lebaran

1 - The abandoned laptop in a taxi. After getting out of the taxi, and grabbing my luggage the taxi drove-off, with my laptop bag, and bag of money. The Taxi company told us - it would be near impossible to trace with thousands of taxis in Jakarta and I could not remember the driver's face or carplate😭 ( laptop = all data )

Great psychic Pauline Suharno called to check if everything is okay. After hearing this drama - her amazing late father Pak Juno Suharno made a few calls and found the driver and retrieved my bag.

Travel tip:
1. Book a car at a new destination if you are a scatter brain like me.
2. Carry everything with you, before jumping out of the cab.
3. Adopt Godfathers around the world😁

Celebrating the start of being a roadwarrior in 2008 till date. Perhaps that is why, this has become and SOP to our drivers to check on passengers - "Sir / Madam - have you taken all your belongings"?

Here with Pauline , in our last physical tradeshow in ITB Singapore 2019. Looking forward to being able to meet up again face to face.

Exciting unfolding of events.
Singapore being our most immediate neighbour has a good sizeable market for incentive travel outbound.

Small is going to be beautiful. Smaller batches for better health and safety controls, more intimate and lavish, slower paced mono destinations.

Malaysia is a fantastic option to be considered. Our challenge now being, the business events SOPs has to be right, and risk assement and management in place.

We have wonderful places and itineraries in place, the time is soon.

Improving travel freedom in popular tourist destinations, as well as relaxed restrictions for returning fully vaccinated Singapore residents, have nurtured green shoots in outbound incentive travel business.

Spent too much on grabfood since the lockdown in 2020.

These few months of working long hours and trying to keep to juicing and eating whole food, came to investing in a since I've watch many of my busy working girlfriends and working moms rave about it

I'm a instant lazy cook - anything simple or fast with little ingredients. Airfryers, cubie oven and onepot meals. If people have 2 left feet mind must be hands.
Have trouble with measurements and chopping and managing the ingredients. Having to Google at the supermarket aisles to see the picture of an ingredient.
Happily enjoy being spoiled by a mom who cooks really well and wonderful chef girlfriends who sends food regularly😍.
( Please keep your food coming, will work towards an exchange soon!)

Starting on my cooking adventure since Malaysia's lockdown seems forever.

Missing India and the gorgeous food.Used to travel to India to at least 3 times a year, since we are in the travel business, exploring different parts for business.

Satisfying my craving...

Butter Chicken
( Substituted ghee for butter as the supermarket ran out)

Newbie blunder : the noob I am blended instead of cook, now I have a hybrid...
Butter chicken kheema!

Taste wise delicious!

Happy I could use the cooking time to wash up the utensils and wipe down.
